Liverpool, a city well-known worldwide for its football clubs, a musical history that includes the likes of Cilla Black and the legendary Beatles and not forgetting the one series wonder ‘Desperate Scousewives’.
The city has undergone a huge facelift in the last few years. From new shopping and residential complexes to the renovation of disused warehouses into thriving enterprises, Liverpool continues to evolve with the times.
You may remember my visit back in December 2017, which was my first visit and I loved it! I think it was then that Liverpool first stole my heart! Three weeks ago, I returned for St Patricks weekend with a few of my girlfriends and we had a fantastic time. Mathew Street was like being in Ireland on such an iconic day!
In the mood for shopping, we took advantage of Liverpool ONE! Don’t get me wrong, we have great shops up here in Newcastle but there’s nothing like Liverpool ONE. From High-Street to High End, you’re sure to find something to suit every taste and every budget. Located at the heart of the city centre, it’s so easy to get to by car or public transport.
Liverpool ONE has recently released this exciting event guide for 2019 and I must say I will be heading back very soon to get involved! There’s a whole host of fun and exhilarating events happening throughout the rest of the year from family fun, to music festivals, to sporting events, arts and culture and food & drink!
Out of them all, the top three events that are unmissable to me are definitely the Liverpool International Music Festival, the Patisserie Through a Chocolatier’s Lens and the Bordeaux Wine Festival.
Liverpool International Music Festival arrives in July at Sefton Park! I’ve only actually been to the city in the winter so it would be amazing to go and visit when the temperatures are a bit hotter. The festival offers a weekend of show-stopping live music from global household names and emerging musical talents.
The Patisserie Through a Chocolatier’s Lens event in April at Hotel Chocolat sounds delightful since I’ve given up sweets for Lent! This is an exclusive lock-in event where you’ll be greeted with a glass of fizz on arrival and then take part in a session to uncover the secrets behind what it takes to achieve chocolate perfection!
And lastly, the Bordeaux Wine Festival in May through to June! I do love a good old tipple, especially a glass of wine. You can indulge in world-class wine and nibble on food here to treat those taste buds!
There’s so much to do and see in Liverpool so make sure you visit soon!
