It’s really bothered me not going on holiday this summer for a week of sun, sea and sand! This time last year I was getting all excited for two weeks in Mexico, but this year I have to wait until NOVEMBER which feels like an eternity! Don’t get me wrong, it will be worth the wait when I get to spend 10 days exploring New York AND Vegas, but still, when everyone around you is jetting off to relax and you’re still stuck at work, isn’t much fun.
Fortunately, for the first time in my whole 22 years of existence, the British summertime has actually been quite good to us. The sun has been shining, the temperatures have been soring and we’ve all been suffering from heat exhaustion. It feels too good to be true. I mean what a time to be alive this July with the nail-biting World Cup (it’s not coming home!), Love Island, Strongbow Dark Fruits and 27-degree heat.
I for one have been making the most of the weather by sprucing up my garden! When the weathers like this, the only thing any of us feel like doing is heading to the nearest beer garden, right?! Well, I’ve kinda’ made my garden into one, ish.
As most of you may already know, last month I announced that I’m a brand ambassador for Studio.co.uk. If you need bringing up to speed, read my that post here. Anyway, Studio has an amazing range of outdoor furniture and bits and pieces so I thought now is the time to add those finishing touches.
I wanted to create a chill-out zone, for those Sunday afternoons in the sun and that’s exactly what I did. My garden might not be Ocean Beach Club Ibiza, but I’ve made it into my little escape!
I already had a gazebo buried in my garage but I thought why not make it into a little beach hut with a set of 3 gazebo side panels. Studio retail these at just £34.99 which is an absolute bargain. They are so easy to assemble and add on to the gazebo too. I think it just creates a space in the shade away from the direct sunlight for perhaps dining plus on an evening creates a real cosy vibe.
While we’re on the subject of dinning, I couldn’t resist not getting this Yellowstone Wicker Picnic Basket! Great for not just in the garden but for when your out and about. This is 4 person wicker picnic basket with a striped fabric lining and sturdy carry handle containing 4 Stainless Steel knives/forks/spoons, 1 Bottle opener, 4 Ceramic plates and 4 Glasses. This picnic basket is so handy, full of everything you need! I still can’t believe it’s only £28.99 too, it’s so luxurious and isn’t plastic. I also picked up this fabulous set of 4 black wine glasses which have been reduced down to £8.99! Who said my garden wasn’t Ocean Beach again?!
Just to add to the Ocean Beach atmosphere I was attempting to create, I also got this stylish fire pit with a cover! No garden is complete without a BBQ and this fire pit fits the bill! Not only does it add a pinch of class to my garden it’s also practical. It includes a large BBQ grill, charcoal grill, mesh guard, carry case and multi-tool and grill handles. It’s quite small but you can’t go wrong for £24.99!
Last but not least, I also grabbed a pack of 10 solar lantern lights for £12.99. I did imagine them dotted around the garden but after they arrived, I thought they looked quite decorative like this on my decking! They’ve been gleamingly bright with the sun we’ve been having recently. They really add the extra something on a warm evening.
And there you have it, my summer haven. I managed to spruce up my garden whilst creating a relaxing space for myself and my loved ones relatively inexpensive too. Thanks Studio!
