So, the question I ask you before I start this post is, do you celebrate Valentines Day?
Worryingly, so many people I know, DON’T celebrate Valentine’s Day and I think it’s really sad. When I was growing up, I remember wanting more than anything, to find a card in my tray at school or in my lunch bag, or even through my door (because that would have been super mysterious!) from a crush of mine every year. And it happened, once. BUT, it was from the wrong guy, the guy who’d had a secret crush on me for years and I’d not had clue nor did I fancy him, at all. I was miserably disappointed.
Then I grew up, had an actual boyfriend on Valentine’s day and it was amazing to receive a small bunch of roses and a crap teddy from the card shop as a teenager because y’know what, I was loved on the loveliest day of the year!
I sound quite desperate, don’t I? Because even when I was an adult, a full-grown independent women and loved myself, being single on Valentine’s was a day I would dread because it was just another brutal reminder that I wasn’t in a relationship.
My Mam would always buy me a card, and some chocolate, and that would always make me feel better. I mean then, I had something to Instagram and preach about being single and loving myself. Hell yeah, sister!
But anyway, now I’ve met the love of my life, he’s made every Valentines for three years now super special. I feel loved every day, don’t get me wrong. I do understand people preach about ‘well why should we celebrate it if we show love everyday’ and yeah, I get it but it’s just nice to be reminded of how great a relationship is or how much you mean to a person. Share the love for gods sake!
This year, we’re planning on eating and drinking, just doing what we do best, toasting to another year together and celebrating. I always like to get him a little gift, so I thought I’d put together a last minute gift guide for any gals struggling to think of gift ideas with Prezzybox.
Before I met my boyfriend, he really wasn’t that interested in taking care of his skin. Typical bloke! But after I started forcing him to use face masks, he reaped the benefits, loving how fresh his skin was! He always now asks for skincare sets for Christmas and birthdays so I thought this would be perfect for him. Young or old, any man is sure to appreciate this stunning Thistle & Black Pepper Luxurious Gift Set! It comes in a vintage-style box that holds four travel sized products including a body wash, a facial wash, an aftershave balm and a luxury soap, all of which are infused with a signature Thistle & Black Pepper scent.
The way to my man’s heart is through his stomach! Before we met each other, we were both lean beans but as they say, a relationship always puts a few lbs on. We both blame each other, but in reality, we’re both just as bad as one another. I couldn’t resist getting him this personalise cookie, how amazing?! It’s super tasty too by the way. The delicious giant cookie can be designed specifically to tailor your needs. A personalised message of your choice (up to 25 characters) can be added to the cookie to make it personal and unique to the lucky recipient. Plus, it has a14 day shelf life (not that it will ever last that long!)
Meeting my boyfriend has definitely brought out the travel bug in me, we’re always planning what destination we want to go to next! As soon as I saw these luggage tags I thought they’d be absolutely perfect for my boyfriend (and me!). This set of two luggage tags are hand made in England using real leather and come in a choice of foil colours for the personalised metallic wording that will be the personalisation you will choose for the front.
At home, I have a very nice selection of Gins. We often have gin nights where we make a few cocktails and experiment with a few tonics so when I saw this miniatures gift set I had to get it! This gorgeous gift set features three mini gin bottles (40ml), each infused with exquisite secret garden scents – Lavender and Echinacea, Apothecary Rose and Chamomile and Cornflower. I think I’m more excited about trying these than him!
And there you have it, 4 gifts under £25 that you could get your hands! If you’re reading this, and you don’t celebrate Valentine’s day, get your other half
