I may be in a relationship, and I may be celebrating actual Valentines Day with my lovely boyfriend but… I do love treating myself and Valentine’s day is just another excuse to treat yourself, isn’t it?
Galentines Day used to be a tradition for me when I was single! I’d make light of being single and spend valentines day with my soul sisters, aka my other single girlfriends! I remember going to see the first Fifty Shades Of Grey one V day with my then best friend and actually buying each other Valentines Day cards! *inserts monkey covering eyes emoji*.
Being alone on Valentine’s day can be very lonely. When I was single I honestly used to dread it. Often sharing memes on Facebook encouraging anyone who was secretly in love with me to tell me ASAP and a tiny part of me wanted my ex-boyfriend to turn up at my door and beg for me back with a million red roses. Obviously, this never happened. I’m eternally grateful that it didn’t happen because I was so vulnerable back then I would give in, simply because I didn’t want to alone on Valentines Day when in reality he was a complete shit bag. So cheers for that hun, thanks for not thinking of me back then.
I used to get so envious of all my loved up friends on Facebook being showered with gifts so celebrating Galentines day really took my mind off being single. Jeez, I sound so desperate. Now I’ve met the man of my dreams!
When I was researching into Galentines Day, the urban dictionary (the most trusting dictionary on the web obvs), it states that Galentines Day is actually celebrated THE DAY BEFORE VALENTINES DAY?!
“February 13th, the other half of valentine’s day, when you celebrate your love for your lady friends! single or no.”
REALLY?! I feel like the whole celebration has been a lie for me now it has a completely different meaning but heyho, I think I should start a petition for all you single gals to make Galentines Day an actual thing ON VALENTINES DAY!
If you’re looking to cheer yourself, I have the most perfect, thoughtful, useful and feel good gifts to shower yourself with on Valentines Day.
A lunch box with a bit of personality! Anyone still on the ‘New Year, New Me’ bandwagon? Still choosing salads over a Mcdonalds?! You go, girl! Me too… 5 days of the week… This hilarious lunchbox is for you if so! We all wish our greek salad was a Victoria sponge every lunchtime don’t we?! This lunchbox is not only funny but practical too, it’s a great size meaning you can add in an extra few spinach leafs to your salad. The plastic lid has a little tab on one corner to allow for it to be removed quickly and with ease. It’s also dishwasher safe!
If you don’t carry a diary or a notebook in your handbag are you even an adult? One the first rules of survival in adulthood is always be armed with a notebook, especially when you work full time. I absolutely love stationary AND Prosecco, so this notebook is so ME! It’s so extra. Whether you need somewhere to jot down important things, write a journal or shopping lists this Personalised Chief Prosecco Taster Leather Notebook is perfect! It’s not just a notebook either, it has a soft touch cover, an elastic holder on the side for your pen/pencil, an envelope pocket to keep those important notes and an elastic strap for secure closure! (I sound like I’m on an M&S advert!)
I think you guys have all grasped how much I love mugs by now, right?! This mug is the ideal everyday, office mug! Forever wishing your mug of black coffee on a morning was actually a gin & tonic? Me, all the time. Having a personalised mug means that having one mug that you always use and everyone knows that it’s yours, so no one else uses it! It was my PET hate in my old workplace when I’d see Dave from accounts walking around with my Minnie Mouse mug! Rude.
See, I told you these things were all useful, therefore you have no reason not to buy these amazing gifts for yourself! I LOVE this design which is exclusive to PrezzyBox too, how sassy?!
Happy Galentines Day ladies, and remember being single isn’t the worse thing in the world!
