Timing really is everything, isn’t it! We live in such a busy world, a busy society and individually all lead busy lives. We rely on time heavily in life, don’t we? Day to day with schedules, meetings, work and most (importantly) not to be late. We also rely on time to bring us fate, to be a healer and to teach us stuff. The older I get the more I realise sometimes there’s just not enough hours in a day.
I like to maximise my day, get shit done y’know. I enjoy getting up early hitting the gym, washing my hair and making myself poached eggs on toast all before 9 am. I feel so fulfilled when I make the most out of every minute of the day. It makes me feel empowered, like hell yeah go me!
It’s not easy though, it’s not easy to get up and ‘do’ every day. Some days I just need a little downtime, some ‘me’ time, some time with the girls, some time with the other half and some time with the family.
Life lately for me has been overwhelmingly busy and it’s been hard to adapt to. I do often let things get on top of me and then I just crumble under the stress, so before it gets to that I decided to do something about being soooo busy to free up some time and, my little plan has actually worked.
I thought I’d share my top tips that I’ve found amazingly useful over the past few weeks for anyone feeling they need some time management direction!
1. Make A List
I’ve said this before on here about my love for lists, but lists do really settle my manic headspace. I can have a 101 thoughts running through my mind of things I need to do, so I like to make a list, a to-do list. There’s nothing more satisfying than ticking something off a to-do list, trust me. I’ve found jotting down things I need to do in order of priority massively helped me.
2. Order Online
The simplest of tasks when you’re time-limited can seem like a real inconvenience, like food shopping, clothes shopping, even visiting the doctors can be a pain in the arse, well it was for me last week! I needed to go to the doctors as I had server neck pain, to save time, I even considered using an online doctor. To save time, just order online!
3. Meal Prep
Preparing meals can not only keep you eating on track if you’re being food conscious, it also can result in an overall more nutritionally balanced diet PLUS it saves a hell of a lot of time. Sitting down and planning your meals every Sunday for the rest of the week means saving money and less stress as you avoid last minute decisions about what to eat, or rushed preparation!
4. Be Punctual
Go to bed earlier and set your alarm earlier for the next day. Getting up an hour earlier than you would normally can buy you some time. I like to set off to work 10 minutes earlier than I normally would to avoid traffic and again, save time.
5. Plan Ahead
I’ll admit, I am a bit of a control freak. I like to be organised therefore I always plan ahead since I like to have a clear picture of every day and what I’m doing. Day to day, I always prepare the next days outfit and have it out ready for in the morning. That saves time, meaning I won’t spend 10 minutes moaning I have nothing to wear!
