5 Motto’s To Live By In 2017

Happy New Year everyone!

Hope everyone had a swell Christmas and New Year. I was lucky enough to spend New Year in London which was amazing. Post coming soon I promise, I took sooooo many pictures on my new camera of which I’m literally so excited to share with you all but I’m sure you spotted a few on my instagram. So anyway, now that I’ve finally had the chance after a very busy festive period to sit down, with a cuppa and reflect on 2016 I thought I’d share a few of my inspirational wisdom/quotes (from Pinterest).

I have learnt so much in 2016, about myself, other people, the world and it really was an interesting yet weird year. Personally, I’ve learned to do what’s best for me. Grown up, learnt to deal with a whole load of stuff like letting go and cutting people out of my life that don’t add towards happiness or positivity and I understand that sounds incredibly selfish but sometimes you have to be because people don’t just come into your life to serve a purpose they touch you unfortunately sometimes that’s just not enough and you have to let go. Therefore I feel a lot stronger and have learnt that everything happens for a reason, more doors open then close in life and this certainly applies to me in 2016.

2016 brought me so much happiness, like getting my boobs done, meeting my wonderful boyfriend whom has turned my world upside down in the best way possible and given me a new lease of love for life, traveled to places I could have only dreamt about visiting like Amsterdam and Paris plus starting this blog Zest of Alice. I have achieved things I never had the courage to do before, meaning now there is no stopping me. So yeah, goodbye 2016 and hello to 2017. From now on I’m going to live by these mottos…

  1. Do more of what makes you happy

Kinda’ cringy yes, BUT you really should just take chances and live a little. Turn your ‘want to do’ ideas into ‘need to do’ ideas. Get up and make a change in your life, even if it is just eating a bar of chocolate one day because you need a cheering up and it’ll make you happy. DO IT!

  1. The less you care, the happier you’ll be

The truest thing I’ve ever heard. If I honestly cared about what people thought about me I wouldn’t be doing half of the things I do right now, including blogging. So many people have tried to put me down since I’ve started blogging, people whom I know, grew up with even, and  it’s simply because they are SO small minded and know nothing about the blogging world and what we do. Therefore I’ve decided I’m going to spend less time on my personal accounts and more time on blogging accounts… positive vibes only.

  1. Sky is the limit

Never ever underestimate or undervalue yourself; you can do anything you truly want to achieve. Always believe in yourself! No one is going to do your life for you, only you so make it count.

  1. Have Faith

In the words of George Michael, you’ve gotta’ have faith. *eurgh, that was cringy… even for me* But it’s true, you have. Nothing is ever truly as bad as it seems and there is always a light at the end of the tunnel so when you’re having a bad day just remember to pick out the highlight of your day and it’s not a bad life just a bad day.

  1. Expect the unexpected

You can plan your life, your day, your night but nothing ever truly goes smoothly does it? There are always bumps in the roads, bad times but you’ve got to take the good with the bad you never know what’s around the corner. You can feel at the lowest of the low, but something or someone can walk into your life and change it all.

I feel like a councilor after writing that, just be happy ok? 🙂

I really, really like these mottos and definitely need to adopt them more often! I definitely think 1 + 2 are linked together and this is something I’m slowly learning!
