Home Finishes With Amara

I’ve become a bit interior mad since the beginning of the year, despite still living at home with my Mam! Our home has undergone a few decor changes since January, I am loving the new look and the homely atmosphere it seems to have developed along the way.

It’s always felt homely don’t get me wrong but some features do seem to blend in after a few years don’t they? We’ve recently upgraded our sofa to a mink crushed velvet corner piece from a bright pink piece which has completely transformed our living area.

The new mink theme we’ve got going on has made the sitting room feel very warm and cosy. As soon as I get in the house I can’t wait to put my feet up and grab a cuppa. Mind, as soon as you walk into my home you can tell it’s a woman home, there are pink shades almost everywhere! (It’s done tastefully, I promise!)

I recently discovered Amara, a luxury home fashion retailer who’ve been in the business since 2005. You could say they know a thing or two about interior design!

Amara started life in a shop but after a leap of faith from the owners, the business truly began online. They saw a huge gap in the market for an online interior marketplace. I couldn’t agree more with them more that there is a gap in the market for online interior retailers so it’s not surprising how well they’ve done over the years.

The minute I found their website I fell in love with their chic brand style. I felt inspired as I browsed their many categories, including their furniture! There were a few things I couldn’t ignore from their Home Accessories range and just had to have in order to add a few finishing touches to my home!

I thought I’d share what I added to my basket and my honest thoughts!

1. Gin O’Clock Door Mat (£25.00)

I’ve mentioned before on here how much myself and my Mam love Gin, we even have a gin bar in our kitchen which is home to a huge selection of brands and flavours! I absolutely LOVED this doormat, it’s just so ME. It presents a great impression for our visitors, right?! The mat is a non-slip PVC backing and is suitable for indoor and outdoor sheltered use.

2. Japonica Limited Edition Candle – Goji & Tarrocco Orange (£34.00)

My obsession with scented candles has grown even bigger with this Japonica candle. I’ve been desperate for one of these for like ever! Not only does it look amazing, just look at those colours and patterns, but it smells divine too. I’d even go as far as to say it smells stronger than a Jo Malone candle. This Goji & Tarrocco Orange is so fresh, uplifting and really reminds me of summer.

3. Rainbow Effect Cocktail Shaker (£20)

Back to my gin collection… I also love cocktails! Who doesn’t love cocktails though?! I’m a big fan of stopping in at the minute (I know, how boring?!) and having wine nights with the girls! I’m always trying to create our cocktail favourites and was in need of a good shaker until now! This rainbow effect cocktail shaker blends in so well with our kitchen decor as we have wallpaper this colour! It makes us look like we’re always ready for a party that’s for sure.

What do you think of my picks? I didn’t think these were bad value for money either, what bargains. I’d really recommend anyone looking for home furnishings to have a look at Amara online, they have some fabulous pieces!

And I love that you have a gin bar! I have a makeshift one on the top shelf of my bookcase to keep it out of reach, just a few rows of gin, tonic and botanicals xD
