Flooring trends to look out for in 2020

Now I’m a homeowner I am OBSESSED with interiors!

Have you made it a new years resolution to finally get round to renovating your home? Or have you finally had enough of your same old flooring? Either way, you’ve come to the right place.

With the start of the new year, new trends are coming left, right and centre. So without further ado, let’s take a look at some flooring trends that are bound to take off in 2020.

Perfect Parquet

In general, parquet flooring is a very much sought after flooring range. Its classical design really shines in a wide range of homes. The staggered planks make for a beautiful statement piece to elevate your hallways or communal areas. As well as the beautiful design, there is a huge range of different tones, colours, and finishes to choose from too.

Parquet is available in most flooring types like solid wood, laminate, and LVT. This means that you can put parquet in bathrooms or kitchens as LVT, for extra water resistance.

The range of different tonal and colour options means that you can most certainly find a range that suits you best. Whether you’d prefer a darker or lighter tone, a certain colour, or a certain finish. For those of you who are feeling a little creative, unfinished parquet is the option for you. This flooring comes completely unfinished, which means you can design and stain your own look onto the flooring.

Trendy Laminates

Laminate Flooring is a great option for those who can’t justify a large budget for real wood flooring. Affordable, practical and stylish – your on to a winner if you ask me. For those who like to switch your style up often, laminate is a great cost-effective choice.

In particular, grey laminate flooring is a great option if you’re looking for a modern interior. Alternatively, you can easily find laminate with a natural wood finish, which is almost like the real thing.

Laminate is a great option for busy family homes, as it can take more abuse compared to real wood flooring. You won’t be compromising on the look or style of your home at the same time.

Additionally for that extra edge compared to other floorings, laminate is much easier to clean compared to other floorings -meaning you can spend less time cleaning, and more time relaxing.

Comfort Carpets

When it comes to comfort, a carpet is a must. Carpets are a great addition to bedrooms and living rooms and can really add that homely feel to your interior, especially during winter months. There’s no better feeling than to dig your toes into a luxuriously soft carpet after a long day at work.

Similar to laminate, grey carpets are currently trending, as well as other slightly lighter tones. If you’re feeling a little different, some subtle patterns will definitely look great when matched with appropriate decor.

Stylish Vinyl

Vinyl is a great option if you want practicality without sacrificing any looks. Vinyl comes in a range of different colours, patterns and designs that are sure to suit whatever aesthetic you want to achieve.

As well as a wood look and texture, you can find many vinyl options in mosaic, stone, parquet or just plain colours. This makes for an extremely versatile flooring that you can fit into any of your rooms. The huge range of options makes finding the perfect choice that much easier.

Vinyl that mimics natural wood is most popular currently. However, it might be worth keeping an eye on the different stone options that you can find. Stone vinyl is a great option for bathrooms and kitchens, as it creates a natural, vintage look.

Hopefully, these suggestions I have mentioned will help you decide what trending option to go for. If you have any suggestions or thoughts be sure to let me know in the comments below.
