Well, I’m back from a week in the Spanish sun! It was a last minute job after deciding to cancel my holiday in November. I had such a nice week just relaxing after not having a holiday all year, total bliss. There’s nothing better than getting lost in a new book and feeling the sun on your skin is there? I arrived back into Newcastle last Friday morning to cold and frost on the windows in comparison to the warm toasty atmosphere in Spain.
Despite feeling a little blue after coming home, the prospect of Halloween and Christmas has kept my spirits up as it really is the most wonderful time of the year! I actually feel like I haven’t shut up about Autumn. Every post seems to have an Autumnal theme but heyho, what the heck, at least I’m not talking about Christmas… yet!
So, I already told you all how much I love a Saturday night in front of the telly with a glass of wine, binge-watching X Factor in my last post, with that in mind considering we spend on average a third of our day in our bedroom, I thought I’d share 5 ways I’m making my bedroom cosier this Autumn Winter.
1. A New Bed
I recently made an extremely adult purchase. I bought a new bed! I’d been considering buying a new one for ages and then I laid eyes on this one. It was love at first sight. I just had to have it. I’m well into crushed velvet at the minute and fancied a grey theme through the room in order to make the space seem bigger than it is, especially with the size of this bed. I love the fabric and pleats used to create the design which I think looks very luxurious.
Oh, how I’ve missed burning my Lidl Jo Malone dupes! A candle’s flame helps to soothe our souls y’know, reducing stress and increasing self-awareness. The soft illumination helps us to calm down and even achieve a meditative state and I’m all about the zen vibes after a long hard day at work and then an hour in the gym.
3. A New Fuzzy Rug
Imagine waking up and it’s pitch black to the fuzzy warm fur under your toes, heaven. To continue with my grey theme, I picked up a new foax fur rug which really compliments my new bed
Ok, so I got this inspo from Pinterest, but how cute are these prints?! They are so cheap to buy on Etsy and then I bought the frames from Wilko. They just add a feature to the wall as well as character.
5. New Flooring
I’m currently considering trying laminate flooring in my bedroom which I know isn’t too conventional but it may open my room out. Laminate ranges in prices but it’s normally very cheap. There are a few pros for laminate too including doesn’t easily scratch and is easy to clean!
