Around about 16 weeks ago, I decided to sign up to an exercise and nutrition programme, and it’s probably been one of the best decisions I’ve made all year. I’m happier, healthier and 18lbs down!
16 weeks ago I felt defeated. I felt fed up. My self-esteem was at an all-time low and I couldn’t bear to look in the mirror at myself. I’d gained 14lbs and I couldn’t work out how. I worked out 6 days a week and ate, what I thought were all the right things. In desperation, I found Shape Up With Sher and joined one of her BOSS BODY programmes which included 2 classes per week and a 6-week meal plan to follow. I stuck to it religiously for the whole 6 weeks and the results were amazing. The meal plan never felt like a diet, more of a lifestyle choice, plenty of variety to satisfy all those cravings and the group classes were so fun!
I continued with Sher’s plans and classes the following 6 weeks and am currently 2 weeks into the 3rd cycle. My self-esteem is back up and I have so much more confidence now, I even manage to squeeze into a pair of size 8 jeans now.
As well as the weight loss, I’ve taken away lots of nutritional knowledge from Sher which was probably my downfall and why I kept gaining weight. It’s all good and well-eating lots of healthy food but when you’re overindulging on the carbs and ‘healthy fats’ it won’t end well!
My go-to snack throughout most of my meal plans has been greek yoghurt and fruit, I’m yoghurt mad these days! Greek yoghurt is a great source of protein, it’s jam-packed full of probiotics and Vitamin B12, plus has a high calcium content. Fortunately for me, a few weeks ago Lancashire Farm Dairies got in touch and told me all about how they’ve gone free range, they are in fact the first in the UK to go free range on all of its products. To celebrate they kindly sent me over all of their free-range products and a board game with different toppings for enjoyable breakfast or snack options!
Lancashire Farm Dairies is a Rochdale-based family business which has always believed in the power of yoghurt. Ever since 1984, the family has specialised in making high-quality natural yoghurt with locally sourced milk, all at incredibly competitive prices.
In case you don’t actually know what free range means, it’s basically livestock, especially poultry, kept in natural conditions, with freedom of movement. It’s such an important factor to me that animals are cared for properly! The Lancashire Farm cows are kept outside for on average 150 days, it would be more but Lancashire isn’t exactly the driest of places.
I received the Greek Style Natural Yoghurt, the Natural Bio Yoghurt and the Fat Free Natural Yoghurt along with a number of different toppings including peanut butter, fruit syrup, granola, oats, nuts and so much more, which was all very exciting, plus the board game.
The board game was super fun to use, I played it with my nieces who enjoyed pimping up their breakfasts for sure! After trying a lot of different variations, ensuring we tried each individual yoghurt with a combination of toppings we decided our favourite was the Greek Style with honey, granola and chocolate. Check out our creation!
Don’t get me wrong each yoghurt was delicious, they were all so tasty and definitely the best quality yoghurts I’ve ever tasted but there was something about the Greek Style, so thick and creamy!
I’m officially a Lancashire Farm Dairies convert and you’ll now find me at my local Asda stocking up! I’d really recommend anyone looking to up their protein or generally to be more mindful of what their eating to try the Lancashire Farm range!
