Gym Bag Must Haves

If you follow me on Twitter you’ll have read this week that I forgot my towel when I went to the gym on Tuesday morning and had dry myself after my shower with my sweaty gym clothes… not the best start to the day, I’ll tell you that. I thought I’d became a bit more organized when it came to packing my gym bag for early morning exercise classes but I was wrong. When I first started going early morning I’d forget clothes, underwear, make up meaning I’d have to go all the way home before work when I was already in a rush to start with. This has improved over the months and things have been going swimmingly until Tuesday… never mind. Today’s post is all about my gym bag must haves, my vital products that I carry with me every time I go to the gym that make my life just that little bit easier.

Drum roll please…

  1. Dry Shampoo

Oh the wonders of dry shampoo… I can’t be the only one who dries their hair after spinning then applies dry shampoo to make it look less greasy?! That sounds disgusting, I know BUT there is nothing more annoying when you have thick longish hair then when you’ve just washed it the night before and then need to wash it again, am I right?! Plus, having to take more time out of your day to wash, dry and straighten your hair is SUCH a task! When I dry it properly with a rounded brush and give it a bit volume it looks as good as new.

  1. Travel Size Moisturisers

Rumor has it that sweating is actually good for the skin! Sweating is the body’s way of keeping cool but some experts believe because it opens and unclogs the pores, perspiration is the secret for keeping our skin looking best. However my skin feels incredibly dry and tight after a workout so I always use some moisturiser after I’ve been showered at the gym.

  1. Deodorant

I literally can’t stand smelly people. I’d want to be told if I smelt and have no issues telling other people if they smell because it’s just unnecessary, you can buy a can of deodorant for £1 and shower gel for even less. Every gym go-er should have deodorant on hand especially for after a workout. I swear by Right Guard, the smell is amazing and it really is long lasting.

  1. Biofreeze

All hail Biofreeze after Legs, Bums and Tums! This god-sent product is a topical analgesic that uses the cooling effect of menthol, a natural pain reliever to sooth minor muscle and joint pain. It relieves pain pretty quickly, offering relief through cold therapy. So, ideal after you’ve done leg or arm day for that achy shoulder or calf.

  1. Compact Styler Tangle Teezer

Basically, a handbag sized Tangle Teezer – for your information the best brush ever. Tangle Teezers are must have product anyway in general for life but this mini on is even more ideal for the gym when you hair has gone a little like Monica off Friends when she hits humidity.

  1. CLIF Gym Supplements

I’ve only just recently discovered CLIF and can’t get enough of their products. I always have a CLIF SHOT Energy Gel with me for when I’m feeling a tired for a quick energy boost before training and a CLIF Bar for after training for a source of protein. Loving this Chocolate Almond Fudge flavor, targets my sweet tooth cravings too.
