HelloFresh At Christmas

Happy weekend guys, hope you’re all feeling festive! Not long till the big day now.

2017 saw me discover HelloFresh. If you’ve never heard of HelloFresh let me give you the low down. The idea around the company is that they sort your dinner out for you, they ultimately provide you with the food and recipes every week, for up to seven days and all you have to do, is cook it. They call it ‘A Recipe Box that Fits your Lifestyle’ You basically get to choose your favourites from their weekly menu of exciting and creative may I add, recipes and then you decide how many meals you’d like for however many people. Then, they’ll deliver those recipes and fresh ingredients to your door, every week, so you can cook delicious dinners of your choice.

They’ve got recipes for everyone from meat eaters like me to veggies, families, to couples and from those with low-calorie diets to others who want quick, easy recipes. Most importantly, you’re in control of your box, so you can skip a week or two whenever you like too.

The idea behind this company is genius. I live with my Mam, who too, has a full-time job and a very busy lifestyle. We do sometimes go home after work and look in the fridge and very much lack inspiration. My Mam is a wonderful cook but it’s the thought process myself and my Mam lack, it’s like we have 99 other things going round in our head to even consider knocking up a fancy recipe THEN going to the supermarket to buy it all. And that’s why HelloFresh fits our lifestyle so well, conveniently we pick our meals then get them delivered on a Monday and boom, we’re sorted for the week.

HelloFresh always has amazing recipes available so we’re only ever stuck because we want them all! We’ve never been let down by them, as in deliveries are always when they say they are, we receive updates of where our box is meaning we’re always in the loop too.

The ingredients in the boxes are always so fresh, usually organic and of a good quality. I think our thoughts when we ordered our first HelloFresh box was ‘how will the ingredients stay fresh?’ ‘will the meat be off?’. We needn’t have worried since all of the meat is kept in a disposable cooler, and other ingredients are kept in brown bags with the rest of the ingredients of that particular meal. It’s all very compact and convenient.

With Christmas in mind, HelloFresh has thought about us busy millennials and have put together THE ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS DINNER CHEAT SHEET! I was lucky enough to be asked to join their campaign and spread the Christmas cooking joy.

The Christmas Cheat Sheet is so handy, I’ve been asked to help out more in the kitchen now I’m an ‘adult’ and all that jazz. Therefore, familiarizing myself with the kitchen and what I bring to the table on Christmas day has been vital. The sheet includes crucial tips on how to prep the veg and even the precise time your turkey!

I received a Christmas HelloFresh box for three people for three days. Ideal really as my boyfriends been joining us this week for tea! This time around, I had no idea what I would be receiving but I had no worries, I knew whatever they’d be sending it would be scrumptious!

I was right, it was amazing. My three meals were Beef Kofta Curry, Sausage Chilli with Homemade Tortilla Chips and Prawn Linguine!
My favourite out of the three was the Beef Kofta Curry, therefore I’ve decided to do a ‘mini’ review of how it works.

Firstly you get an instruction pamphlet with step by step instructions along with mini photos of what you should be looking at. They are really easy to follow and it even gives you a precise time of how long the dish will take to get make. The curry was estimated to take 30 minutes, not too bad! Very quick for dinner.

We started preparing the vegetables which would be going into the curry, then rolling the meatballs from the beef mince, then the cooking commenced.

After all the preparation was done, it was time to eat! The curry was absolutely divine, really tasty. You can 100% tell the ingredients are all fresh because there’s just that extra oomph!

I’d really recommend anyone to give HelloFresh ago. It’s brought healthy, fresh food to my diet and so much ease to my life! Price wise, the box is fantastic value for money. We found we actually saved money as we were spending an absolute fortune on takeaways and big shops at the supermarkets. A classic box is what I usually get and that’s for two people, with five meals and it comes in at just £48.99. We even get our lunches for the next day from the leftovers! How ideal.

Have you tried HelloFresh before?

I’ve seen lot of bloggers/vloggers talk about these now, and always think they look great! At the moment I’m moving around a lot, but I might look into trying this out when I’m more settled down!

I’ve been wanting to try Hello Fresh for a while now mainly because I want to eat cleaner, healthier meals. I must admit the Christmas box looked great and so did the kofta curry.
