A Stroll in Seaham
A short but sweet blog entry today on this fine Sunday…
Seaham is a small town in County Durham, just on the outskirts of Sunderland. It holds lots of history behind it’s fine beaches, as it was once a small rural agricultural farming community. Back in 2001 most of Durham’s coastline was designated as a ‘heritage coast’ and Seaham beach was entirely restored. The whole area has had a revamp which has meant the town has become quite the hot spot bringing in lots of new businesses and tourists.
Last Saturday me and my boyfriend decided to go for a walk along the beach and grab a bite to eat along the famous marina. I managed to capture a few moments and thought I’d share. The views around Seaham are just stunning.
We went to The Pancake Kitchen which is a little cafe within the Marina Complex which create the most amazing pancakes. I’d first heard about the place via Instagram, so should I say seen the creations on Instagram first. The pancakes looked delicious! I had to go and try, so I did and I go all the time now, especially on cheat days. My favourite is the chocolate nut dream, which is basically an ultra thin pancake with sliced banana, Nutella, chocolate and vanilla ice-cream finished with whipped cream, flakes, chocolate sauce and a sprinkling of nuts. As well as a variation of sweet pancakes they also do savory pancakes including an all day breakfast pancake which is topped with bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage, tomato and mushrooms with beans on the side…how unreal. This time I had the daily special which was the Brownie Delight which was a pancake drizzled and swamped with warm chocolate brownies. My boyfriend just had a waffle since he’s a plain jayne.
I love just getting out and exploring once in a while, don’t you?
