Happy New Year! 2019 marks three whole years of Zest Of Alice and I can’t bloody believe it! Times flies when you’re having fun doesn’t it?!
Speaking of time and how much it flies, I can’t believe Christmas has been and gone. Just like that. I went back to work last week, which actually wasn’t as bad as I’d built up in my head. In fact, it was a really good week. It was good to get my life back in order, give my liver a rest and actually eat a vegetable. I hope however you spent your Christmas break, it was fantastic.
Anyway, back to 2019. I had planned to post this pre-Christmas, but well, the last week before Christmas was a blur!
I started blogging for a number of reasons, one significant reason was that I was so inspired by the influence of bloggers and the platforms a few of my faves had built up. For example, Hannah Gale. I still do read every single post of hers, like probably every one of her Instagram posts and love to follow her life (I mean it’s been MEGA exciting following the birth of her son hasn’t it?!) I just love the realness of her content and who she is, and I relate to her.
I look forward to writing this post at the end of every year or in this case the beginning of the year to reflect on all of the positives and all of the negatives. I had a hell of a year in 2018 with this blog, like working closely with brands such as Marks & Spencers, Novotel and Bobbi Brown. But, it hasn’t all been rainbow and butterflies, like blogger wars, fake influencers and setbacks!
It’s hard as a blogger to find your individuality and not compare yourself to insta famous babes. Last year, I learnt to just be me. Be me, and love me. And love the content I create.
It’s good to set goals, but it seems for the past three years of blogging my journey as a wannabe writer, it takes unexpected turns and things don’t always pan out how you want them too. But, I like having something to work towards so here it is, my 2019 blog goals…
Continue To Grow My Instagram Presence
I’ve given up on the dream that I’m ever going to go viral overnight, so slow and steady wins the race and all that jazz. Last year I’ve grew my account by an extra thousand and almost a half. It doesn’t sound much, but it was bloody hard and I think any blogger who’s reading this will agree with me! I’m going to aim for another thousand and a half for next year, so wish me luck. Instagram your algorithm will not define me!
Create More Fitness Focused Content
Health, fitness and food are three of my passions in life so I figured why not start focusing more on healthy lifestyle content? I’m hoping to lose a stone next year so I think I’m going to document the process and keep myself motivated.
Travel As Much As I Can… And Blog About It
One of my greatest loves in life is to explore. Santa was extremely good to me this year, myself and my other half are off to Barcelona in a little under three weeks and I can’t wait. What a way to fight the January blues, huh? I’ve always dreamed about visiting and was especially envious last year when my Mam went, so she bought us a trip for Christmas. How amazing is my Mam by the way?!
I already have a trip to Liverpool in the pipeline in March, and then a holiday to Spain in the summer, so hey, watch this space with my travel content!
Be More Creative
Think outside of the box. Be more colourful. Don’t blend in with the crowd. I said last year I found myself within the blogging community but I really would like to share more of me and who I am. I love fashion blogging and really up’d my game last year and I want to continue doing that this year. I’m going to get my photography A game this year and use my skills!
Think positive, be positive. Learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow. If you believe in yourself you can accomplish anything. I’ve been humbled that so many amazing brands want little old me to work on their amazing campaigns in 2018 and I’ve even surprised myself. In 2019, I’m going to be more organised and do good shit with my time.
Let’s do this…
