Shoe appreciation post alert!
So I’ve had a rather exciting week. Monday came around miserable as ever for me after having a fab chilled out weekend and I was dreading my usual Monday routine as everyone does who works haha. BUT my day/week/life was brightened up when these beauties were delivered to my work on Monday morning from my amazing boyfriend!
I literally couldn’t believe my eyes, he’d been going on about a surprise on Monday morning all week but didn’t suspect it would be the shoes. He’d been hinting on about getting me a special present when were in Paris (we go next week!) so I certainly wasn’t expecting anything pre Paris. But when the Selfridges packages arrived I was in utter shock.
I mean they are just absolutely gorgeous, I can’t stop looking at them! Soooo pretty!!! Boy done good considering he choose the style and colour. When I was younger I remember a friend of mine getting a pair for her 16th birthday and thinking ‘in your dreams Alice’ but look, the dream is real!!!!!! I can’t thank my boyfriend enough they are one of the best presents I’ve ever received. So yeah I’ve been feeling very lucky this week and very appreciative of my boyfriend, also thinking how can I top this for his Christmas present?!?!
They are the So Kate Pigalle 120 Nude Patent calf shoe basically:
- heel high is 120mm (just the right height)
- 100% Patent-Leather
- Made in Italy
I’ve been researching how to look after them, since I’ve heard the odd rumor about how the red sole can be ruined on gravel etc so care wise, the red lacquer of the soles wears out with use *crys* note to self: never wear these on a night out in Sunderland ha! They advise you that this is not a manufacturing defect but simply wear and tear. Standard really I suppose. The shoes also come with a guide of how to keep them in good condition and recommending keeping the leather area clean and dry using a soft cloth, storing the shoes away from light and heat, keep away from rain and moisture (don’t wear in winter/snow then), store in the Christian Louboutin dust bag provided for each shoe and avoid contact with abrasive services.
Now to the most important verdict of the shoes… the comfort. I’ll be honest they are as painful as any other high heels, sorry not sorry. I can bare it, just like I bare any other high heels who ever said beauty and looking good wasn’t pain ey? They are actually a slightly different design when covering your toes, the start of toes are actually on show unlike other same style like (if that makes sense). However the pain still doesn’t put me off, these shoes are life.
Special thank you to my lovely boyfriend, he’s a keeper.
