An Evening at HaveToLove
Last week I headed to HaveToLove, a local fashion boutique located in Gosforth, for a blogger babes evening! HaveToLove is an online fashion store bringing us ladies fast fashion at affordable prices at our convenience. Luckily for me, I can shop the latest on trend arrivals at their Newcastle store but for those outside of the area, you can shop online with UK next day delivery.
HaveToLove was a dream created by Kate Walton, a local superstar! I have to give it to Kate; her business has gone from strengths to strengths over the years. She first emerged on the fashion scene back in 2004 at Graduate Fashion Week having designed her own handbag collection under the Havetohold brand, a name which soon gained celebrity attention from the likes of Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole. Eeeek! Kind of big deal! HaveToLove has quite rightly earned a number of awards from opening including Winner of ‘Drapers Best New Business 2007’ and featured in Britain’s Best Boutiques 2010 and 2012 by Vogue Magazine and Best Independent Buying Team at Pure London Buyers Power List 2015 awards in association with WGSN at Olympia London. Therefore, I was very excited to be invited along!
I went along around 6ish, of course myself and Laura had time for a quick photoshoot! Digging this Gucci dupe T, which was an absolute steal from eBay. Thank me later. I’m getting well into my #fblogger role, aren’t I? It was one of my blog goals for 2017, to get more into fashion and I’m loving it! Events like this are perfect for this blog category.
The shop itself is really lovely, very luxurious and feminine. Sometimes when I walk into a shop like Zara, I don’t feel personality, if you get me? It’s very bland, whereas Have To Love had lots of character. It’s probably down to it being a unique boutique and Kate herself projecting her personality. When I say feminine, I mean pink. I loved it, the branding is lovely. There was a warm welcome and atmosphere in the shop, the staff could not have been more attentive. There were glasses of bubbly, pick n mix and doughnuts from ProvenGoodSco which FYI is a local delicacy! Just look at them, the best doughnuts I’ve ever seen. I’ve been desperate to give them a try and they were very fitting to the pink theme.
After a quick briefing from the staff and a chat with Kate herself, it was time to examine the clothes and styles. I want to start by saying how truly gorgeous the clothes are at Have To Love, the prints, the patterns, the dresses, the jeans, the shirts, everything. I spent most of the night lusting over just about every rail. The clothes are very ME. There were a few pieces from their SS17 ranges, but predominately the clothes were showcasing the AW ranges and honestly, it’s made me very excited for what next seasons styles have to offer and to wear a woolly jumper again. None of the clothes were dark or black, colours yes, I love but wash me out in the winter with my pale skin tone! Therefore, I loved the warm vanilla tones, and peach colours I saw in a few of their jumpers and shirts. I was very impressed by the AW range and cannot wait to get my hands on a few pieces when it’s payday.
After a browse, I got my nails done by the girls from Beauty at Gosforth Park which is a salon situated within the Gosforth Marriott Hotel and offers many different beauty treatments. I received Gellux nails, which are basically long-lasting gel polish nails. They’re probably the best gel nails I’ve ever had. I always get acrylic nails therefore; my normal nails are wrecked! However, I’d just removed my acrylics the day before and they worked wonders on my poor weak nails, and the gel is still on till this day! Result.
I had a lovely night at Have To Love and would like to thank everyone involved who made the evening. It was a real girly night! Stay tuned for Have To Love in a few of my next OOTD posts!
