A Guide To Banishing The Work Blues With Studio.co.uk

Summers almost over and despite not having an actual summer holiday I am a bit gutted that for 2018, we’re nearly done with the sun and temperatures past 10 degrees.

We’ve had a cracking summer this year in contrast to the last few years and it’s been truly wonderful to enjoy my surroundings, like being able to make use of my garden, going for walks along the beach, plus taking advantage of a few local beer gardens for a pint of the finest Strongbow dark fruits. And now, as Autumn begins to creep up on us, the blues are kicking in.

On average, we’ll spend around 92,120 hours of our lives at work. That’s a depressing thought but when you love what you do the time does fly. I’m lucky enough to really enjoy my work, I like being in a routine and I like to be in order. It’s really difficult as a young adult to find the balance between work and play because let’s be honest they don’t teach you this in school do they? They don’t teach you how to cope with working 8 hours a day, they don’t teach you, in my opinion, proper life skills.

I remember when I first started my career as an apprentice with 8 hour days used to exhaust me. I’d literally fall into bed on an evening, now it’s just normal and I couldn’t imagine my life any different. It’s really important to look after yourself because life does get so hectic and I can vouch for that. There’s maximising your day and then there’s you time. I try my hardest to steer away from any stress and anxiety by not overdoing it with a little self-care.

As you all know I’m a brand ambassador for Studio so I thought why not use this month to showcase some self-care tips for beating the back to work blues! The kids get the whole ‘back to school’ hype and near gear so why not treat yo’ self-gal for going back to work after your holidays!

1. A jazzy mug

I literally have a mug obsession. How cute is this mug? I couldn’t believe that this Personalised Flamingo Slim Mug is only £7.99, especially since it’s personalised. A new mug for me symbolises a fresh start! Plus, it’s a great accessory for my desk.

2. A fresh scent

I do love a new perfume, don’t you? I had no idea Studio had a beauty department until closer inspection on their website this month. They retail some amazing cosmetic brands like YSL, Givenchy and many more. I went for Scandalous by Victoria Secret. I first smelt this perfume last year in Mexico in the airport on the way home and I fell in love with it. I didn’t get the chance to grab it as I was in a rush to get on the aeroplane so when I saw it on the Studio I knew I had to have it. Scandalous is a very sexy smell, it’s kinda a mix floral-fruity aromas.

3. Makeup Tools

Whilst on my discovery of Studio’s beauty section, I also spied this Unicorn Make-up Brush Set for just £8.99. It’s been a while since I’ve treated myself to some new makeup brushes and this set of 5 brushes are specifically for applying powders and foundations to create a completely flawless look. Not only do they look dreamy, they apply product dreamy too. I was worried about the quality of the brushes as I only ever really use Real Techniques and Spectrum but these are incredibly soft yet were able to hold product perfectly!

4. A new do

Continuing my discovery of the beauty pages, I found this TRESemme Salon Smooth Blow Dry Collection. I always look after my hair, it’s a real priority for me and at the minute my hair is on fleek (if I do say so myself!). I’ve been in need of a new hair dryer for ages and when I spotted this collection, I thought it was fantastic value for money at only £26.99. The set includes a powerful 2200W Ionic dryer with a curl enhancer diffuser, self-grip rollers, a large paddle brush plus sectioning clips and a 200ml TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Spray. It’s a really good set, it has everything you need to get a fresh new do.

5. A new outfit

Clothes have the power to give you confidence, to make you feel good about yourself, to make you feel like you can take on the world and this dress does that for me. It’s the perfect dress for work, it’s dressy, looks professional and doesn’t comprise comfort. This is a Be You Long Sleeve Belted Check Dress which is a bargain price of £7.99! I love how it compliments my figure and how it’s great for the transition from summer to autumn.

6. A new bag

What new outfit would be complete without a new bag?! I love this Zip Top Tote With Pouch and Pom Pom. The bag really accessorises my outfit and is so practical. I love a big bag for work to carry my laptop and paperwork, it’s secure with zip fasten too. It’s finished with a cute fluffy pom pom keyring and a handy zip pouch for all your cards and cash. I can’t believe how expensive it looks yet it’s only £9.99!
