Autumn is a season famous for its turning leaves, cooling temperatures and darkening nights. It feels like we’re all going totally mad about it, especially us bloggers. Madly excited I mean. I always feel like there’s such a build up to Autumn in September since it feels like the crossover month between the end of summer and the change in weather.
Speaking of weather, I’m not sure I’ll ever get over the summer we’ve had because what a time to be alive, going to work in 30-degree heat! It’s honestly the hottest summer I’ve ever had/can remember in my whole 22 years of existence so I’m definitely welcoming the cooler temperatures although I’ll probably take that back when I have to start de-icing my car every morning.
I really enjoy Autumn, despite the negatives like extremely dark mornings and days feeling shorter. I feel the positives outweigh the negatives though and I’m one of those people who like having things to look forward too, not that I want to wish my life away I just like building up to something and I feel like Autumn is full of fun stuff to do. So, I thought for all of those Autumn haters, I’d put together a post with Studio.co.uk on the reasons why I love this season and maybe it might give you some ideas of things to do and make the most of the leaves falling!
An obvious one for me, but fashion! I love the change in fashion. I’ve had my head in a lot of fashion pieces this month exploring what’s hot and what’s not. Just so y’know, in case you didn’t read last fashion post, animal print is going wild *no pun intended* so I just HAD to pick up this stunning shaggy faux fur jacket from Studio.co.uk which was just £34.99 reduced from £50. It is so soft and cosy, guaranteed to keep me snug in the cold! What’s even more exciting for me when it comes to Autumn fashion is the fact I’m now a size smaller so clothes I could only dream about wearing I can wear now. One thing any Autumn fashion haul wouldn’t be complete without is a jumper, I couldn’t resist this chunky cable knit faux-pearl embellished jumper for £14.99, it’s quite dressy too so I’ll be wearing it on a few evening occasions. I also picked up a new pair of black jeans for £12.99 and a pair of cute Chelsea boots for £9.99, what a bargain!
2. Cosy Nights In
With the return of the X Factor, I’m thoroughly enjoying a Saturday night in with some nibbles and a bottle of wine with the candles on. A good TV schedule does make a difference but there’s nothing better than getting a new pair of PJs and slippers, and then binge-watching chick flicks on Netflix.
Halloween can be daunting to some people but to me, it’s all about toffee apples, dressing up and booze! Fortunately, I have plans this year so myself and the other half are going as dead/zombie little red riding hood and the wolf. I can’t wait, because when else can adults dress up and hit the town without getting strange looks?! Even if you don’t like Halloween, get your self a copy of the latest horror and enjoy.
4. Pumpkin Spiced Lattes & Hot Chocolates
Eeeek, Costa launched it’s bonfire spiced drinks range in stores back in September which is brand new and something a little bit different. The new range includes a bonfire spiced latte, hot chocolate and even a cold brew which comes topped with whipped milk. On the other hand, Starbucks took Autumn excitement one step further this year and released their Pumpkin Spiced Latte Autumn special at the end of August, what a buzz kill! Their limited editions drinks are made with pumpkin pie flavour syrup and seasoned with cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg and are apparently the coffee giant’s top-selling seasonal drink of all time. The autumn menu range will also see the return of the Salted Caramel Mocha and Teavana Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte as well as a new espresso mocha and two cold drinks with cocoa and maple pecan. Show me the coffee!
5. Christmas Shopping
Dare I even say this?! The beginning of the Christmas shopping! Maybe I’m just super organised, but yes I have already started. I’m just taking advantage of the summer sales, don’t hate on me! You can expect multiple posts next month from about Christmas so be prepared. I can’t wait to see what Studio have in the pipeline for Christmas shopping so stay tuned!
Do you like Autumn?
