4 Reasons Why I’m Loving Tropical Print This Season
Unintentionally, all of the clothes I’ve been buying this season have been tropical print. I can’t help it, I’m just loving it right now! We were told predictions back in Autumn/Winter that spring would be all about those floral vibes and I guess it was a little bit but it seems this tropical print trend has well and truly taken over this summer.
The likes of Fenty Puma, Baja East, Michael Kors and Coach have all been channelling their inner jungle on the catwalk recently and it seems to have blown up all over our high street and online retailers. We were exposed to the trend at the end last summer when there was an influx of tropical prints featuring ferns, hibiscus, palm trees and parrots invade jackets, skirts, tops and dresses, adding that exotic vibe.
I liked it back then, but I think I’m a little late for the party on this trend but boy am I appreciating it this time around! I thought I’d put together a post on the reasons why I’m loving it and how it’s revamped my wardrobe this season.
1. It’s Flattering
These prints are SO flattering, no matter what shape or size you are! I grabbed this maxi playsuit in Primark for JUST £13! I feel it really suits my figure, I definitely have an hourglass figure and am told that outlining my waist can define my figure. Prints also can hide any lumps and bumps, the eye is drawn to the pattern of the fabric – and not what’s beneath. I’m often quite conscious of my stomach area and this style perfectly disguises it!
2. Bright Colours
I’m such a big fan of colours so I do love it when summer comes around and I get to experiment. I talk about how I express myself through fashion to present my personality a lot on here and I’d like to think I’m quite a vibrant, sunny person. I’m diggin’ the variation of tropical colours out there, the green tones, the orange tones! Take the maxi playsuit I’m wearing on here as another example, for those women who usually stick to the dark tones you could still use your safety blanket and stick to navy and deep blues, then experiment with the prints! LOTD have some gorgeous tropical kimono’s in at the minute which is another summer must have!
3. Variation of Styles
Whether you prefer shift vests, wide legs pants, jumpsuits or bodycon dresses, don’t worry, there’s a broad range of styles when it comes to tropical print. I googled ‘tropical print clothing’ and Google Shopping produced a dress, an off the shoulder day dress, trousers, even a men’s t-shirt in tropic print. Depending on your figure, there’s something for you. Let’s not forget the variation of prints out here, my favourite is definitely the palm tree prints but I am partial to the tropic flowers too.
4. Every Occasion
Tropical print isn’t just for by the poolside and swimwear! Since there’s such a wide range of styles, there’s a look for every occasion! I’m wearing this maxi playsuit with sandals but I could easily dress this up a pair of wedges. The Kimono I’ve been wearing ALOT over on my Instagram here looks good as a casual look and a dressed up look. These prints are for every outing no matter what you’re up and it just looks so summery.
Hope this has convinced you into investing in this style!
