Yes, you’ve read that title right. ANOTHER Christmas post. Sorry, not sorry! Why not, ey? It only happens once every year so why can’t we bang on about it for a month in advance?! Exactly.
I haven’t done a proper beauty haul since October *shocked emoji* and it’s because my blog schedule has just been so jam-packed. Lucky for you guys, I’ve finally sat down with some goodies from World DutyFree and here you go.
If you’ve ever stepped into a UK or German airport departure lounge, then you’ll know who World DutyFree are! If not, you need to travel more. World DutyFree are a brand who endeavour to bring us shoppers the very latest products at the best value prices.
I gun for the nearest duty-free when I’m in an airport because the products are so much cheaper and that’s because the term ‘duty-free’ means products that are exempt of excise duty (& tax); these are exclusively available to international passengers who are travelling outside of the European Union (EU).
What better feeling when you’re jetting off on holiday, to get all your beauty essentials at a discounted price?! I usually always treat myself to a ‘holiday lipstick’.
Earlier this month, with Christmas in mind, (and present buying); I was lucky enough to receive a few bits and pieces from the team at World DutyFree and what a delivery it was.
I received a gorgeous Origins set, an OPI nails varnish mini set plus a Tom Ford lipstick. I’m a huge advocate of Origins all because of my Mam, you can always rely on your Mams recommendations, can’t you?! She bought me a set for my birthday and I’ve completely fallen in love with the brand and their products! I’ve had an OPI nail varnish before, but that was years ago so I was looking forward to trying a few new shades. And Tom Ford… I’ve never actually tried any Tom Ford beauty products before but I’m yet to hear a bad word about it. How exciting.
1. Origins Checks & Balance Duo
I literally love this product! This bottle of wonder was actually in the set I received for my birthday so I knew it was already amazing! This solution is more of a cleanser which balances faces with dry and oily places. It’s a very gentle and frothy face wash containing Broad Leaf Kelp Extract, Wheat Protein and Tourmaline which discourages excess oil production and protecting dry prone zones. It has a minty smell to it, as it also contains Spearmint and Lavender. I usually use this before I apply makeup on a morning and after I’ve removed my makeup on an evening. In this set, it contains two 150ml bottles so you’ll never run out.
2. Tom Ford Patent Finish Lip Colour
Like I said, I’ve never tried any Tom Ford beauty products before so I was intrigued and my hopes were high. Quite rightly so too, I thought this lip colour stick was fantastic. This new patent finish lip colour range is described to be ‘lip colour innovation combining a lip stain with an ultra glossy finish.’ I’m not usually a fan of lip stain but I really liked the lightweight moisture product as it was long lasting and full of shine. I was fond of the click-pen design as it was really easy to use and the sponge-tip applicator meant applying it was effortless.
3. OPI Go Nudes Set
I mean how cute though? I’ve been letting my nails grow recently and stepping away from the acrylics so I was interested to see whether OPI nail varnishes were as long lasting as I’ve heard and what the texture was like because let’s face it. It’s not cute to have chipped nails is it?! Included in the set are six mini bottles in the ideal travel or handbag size! OPI have used their five best-selling nudes shades, Step Right Up!, Bubble Bath, Passion, Tickle My France-Y, and Dulce de Leche, plus RapiDry Quick-Dry Top Coat, a fast-drying coat of shine and protection to nails, perfect for quick touchups to your manicure. All of the shades included were soft and beautiful, I do love brown tones on my nails so I used the Dulce de Leche first and then applied the Quick-Dr Top Coat. I was honestly really impressed, it was thick, not clumpy though, dried almost instantly and the top coat gave it that gel polish finish. The verdict as to whether they chipped too is… *drum roll please*, they chipped after seven days which isn’t bad at all.
Overall, I loved all of the goodies from World DutyFree, although I used them as my Christmas presents… To me, from me, these would be the perfect gift for your secret santa or beauty lovers.
If you’re not heading to the airport soon, why not buy online? World DutyFree have some cracking deals on! Make sure you check them out for your Christmas shopping.
