The first beauty post of 2018 has landed and it’s a good one if I do say so myself. Skin Doctors, have you heard of them?
I hadn’t until I saw Plain Sarah Jayne sharing her love for the brand last year and it intrigued me. I’ve previously admitted on here that I find it really hard to maintain a skincare routine. I am one lazy b*atch.
However, I have some good news. Face wipes are a thing of the past for me (hooray!) and I haven’t looked back. My skin has massively improved since wiping my dreadful habit out (no pun intended!!). Not to say, it isn’t time-consuming using makeup remover then, a face wash, then a serum and lastly moisturizer BUT I have seen great results in my complexion.
I haven’t got any major wrinkles at the minute as I am only twenty-one but I do appreciate it’s crucial to start looking after my skin sooner rather than later. Plus, c’mon who doesn’t love a bit pamper and mini facial after a shower. It actually makes me feel good, it’s the little things, isn’t it? Like I have my life together and all that jazz.
So back to Skin Doctors, I was lucky enough to receive two little pots of miracles to review a few weeks ago and I’ve given them a good go, therefore, I thought I’d share my thoughts and results!
Before I try any beauty products, I like to do my research into a brand. Skin Doctors impressed me by their ‘problem-solution’ attitude for product innovation. These guys are industry leaders in the development of breakthrough, clinical strength cosmeceuticals that offer consumers topical alternatives to surgery. All of their products are based on cutting-edge formulations developed in conjunction with leading research institutes and skin specialists, utilising the latest in skincare actives and formulations. Interestingly, they include Cosmeceuticals in their products which are cosmetic products with ingredients designed not only to enhance the appearance but to also have a positive physiological effect at the cellular level. They provide lasting benefits and satisfy both beauty and health needs.
The products I was sent to review were the Skin Doctors Potent Vit.C Ampoules which are the day capsules, coming in at £39.99 and the Potent Vit. A Ampoules which are the night capsules, priced at £39.99 normally, however they’re on offer for £27.99 right now, bargain! The packaging is very luxurious, the tub the capsules are in are gorgeous too, very stable.
Let’s start with the Potent Vit.C Ampoules, Skin Doctors claim to protect your skin from premature ageing, wrinkles and damage from environmental factors throughout the day. On the packaging, it said to ‘instantly activate collagen to firm wrinkles and brighten skin.’ The direction of use is to only use one ampoule on cleansed face and neck every morning. Twist or snip ampoule neck to open. Apply by lightly tapping the serum onto the skin.
So that’s exactly what I did and it was incredible. I can fully confirm the results were instant too. My skin felt glorious after only one use, it softened and smoothed my cheeks straight away. It’s quite a thin and silky texture, the first time I used I perhaps didn’t even out the coverage well enough not realising how much product was actually in the capsule. Whilst you’re applying to skin you expect to look and feel oily after you’ve rubbed it in, but it’s not. It dries instantly, feeling fresh on the skin.
After a few weeks of using these Ampoules, I can honestly say I’m over the moon with the results, all the claims about the product are true.
Now for the Potent Vit. A Ampoules, which claim to truly defy time by eliminating ageing wrinkles and fine lines every night. On the packaging, it’s said to ‘instantly active collagen to repair, restore and refine skin’. The direction of use is to use one ampoule on cleansed face and neck at night. Twist or snip ampoule neck to open. Apply by lightly tapping the serum onto the skin. Do not use directly below the eyes or on eyelids.
I followed the instructions and it worked really well for me! The morning after I’d used these capsules my skin was on the fleek, legit glowing. Like I said earlier in the post, I’m not of an age yet where wrinkles consume my face so I can’t say I saw a huge difference when it came to wrinkles, I did, however, let my Mam have a try and she loved this product too. She said her wrinkles were visibly finer. This product is similar to the consistency of the day capsule, thin, has no smell but it’s more oily-er.
After using this product for a few weeks now, again I’m mega happy with the outcome. Skin Doctors you have turned me!
Overall, I’ve become very fond of both products over the last few weeks and I will certainly be continuing to use them in the future. Personally, because I am a budget type of gal these are a bit of splurge but the price is completely justified by the quality which is superb. I’d 100% recommend Skin Doctors to anyone, I can’t wait to explore more of their ranges.
