Happy Friyay! If you follow me over on Instagram you’ll have noticed that for the past month or so, my makeup has seriously been on point… if I do say so myself and it’s all down to the genius’ at Nip + Fab. If you don’t know who Nip + Fab is, where have you been gal?! To sum the brand up in a sentence they are an innovative beauty brand, renowned for their cutting-edge ingredients in their skincare ranges. I’m a huge advocate of their skincare range, I swear by it!
Their makeup range is an extension of their skincare range, helping us divas create that instagramable flawless complexion, ready for selfies at every angle. I was thrilled when I heard they were launching this range and was even happier when a delivery landed right on my desk at work, full of goodies for me to try.
My main cosmetic obsession at the minute is a highlighter, it just completes every look I go for and looks banging in photographs. As you lot probably know by now, Iconic is my favourite highlighter and illuminator that I’ve tried so far on my highlight journey so I was really intrigued to see how this Nip & Fab highlighter palette would match up! Its proper name is the Nip + Fab Highlight Palette Stroboscopic 1 and has six gorgeous shades! In the product description, it’s said to add instant luminosity to any complexion since it’s a universal highlighting palette. The shades are a creamy textured powder that are said to blend easily and leave a metallic shimmer. So did they?! Hell yes! I haven’t been keen on powdered highlighters in the past, to be honest, but this has completely changed my mind. I LOVED the texture! It applied so effortlessly. Even though it’s a very light coverage, it’s really effective, it left me dazzling, literally. My favourite shade was definitely the rose gold colour as it completed my bronzer and contour. I applied as instructed to my cheekbones, cupids bow and brow bone and it worked really well. Very impressed for just £15!
The shadow, oh the shadow. The hardest part of every girl’s makeup routine, don’t deny it. It’s so hard to get your blend perfect and let’s not even go into how tough it is to make your wing go wing-y. The palette I received was the Eyeshadow Palette Sculpted and its shades are very fitting to the Autumnal season, as you can see. It comes in at just £12.95, an absolute bargain compared to some palettes I’ve bought in the past. Nip + Fab call this the mother of all eyeshadow palettes, I had very high hopes for this one! My first impression of the shades was that they looked really strongly pigmented. A MUST for a shadow, I ain’t got no time for a light coverage when it comes to my eyes. In the product description, they say the texture is velvety, almost creamy. I was worried it might feel sticky on my eyes if it was creamy but there wasn’t any need to be worried, it was so silky when applied resulting in the blend being PERFECT. I loved every single colour in that palette, I created a number of looks with every shade, they work so well together. I used it for everyday use, work looks and evening looks. It’s definitely a multi-use palette.
I received two shades of colour corrector. I’ve never used a colour corrector before, or really knew what they were used for, so it was a learning experience for me when I used both correctors. Turns out correctors are to enhance your complexion and blur out imperfections. I’m totally down for that. I had peppermint, which is essentially a green toned concealer which neutralises redness on the skin and is ideal for covering blemishes and reducing irregular pigmentation. I get spots once a month, and I bet you can guess what time of the month that is ha! It really helped create a flawless finish even though my skin was far from flawless. It really does work! I also tried the terracotta colour which is for getting rid of those dark bags under your eyes. I suffer terribly from dark spots under my eyes with getting up at the crack of dawn and not going to bed early enough so I was interested to see whether this would make a difference. It did, and I’m not just saying that. I was a bit sceptical about these random colours and applying them on my face but they work wonderfully and don’t sink into wrinkles or creases. Both come in at £8.95 and are a must to your daily beauty routine, trust me.
Now onto my two favourite products from the range, the liquid matte lipsticks. I feel like the make-up world is rejecting the gloss and bringing in the matt look more and more, to my complete devastation. I hate matt, I say this all the time on here and although I’m finding decent matt lippies, I can’t be changed, I will forever love the gloss look. I did, however, love these liquid lipsticks. They are so different to what I’ve ever tried before, or seen on the cosmetic market. They apply like any other ordinary gloss buy dry matt, but thicker than a lip gloss obviously. I received the Cinnamon and Cool nude shade, perfect for winter, gone are the bright colours thank god, it’s all about the brown tones. Both were long-lasting, creamy, non-dry and bold. I love these lippies! And… they’re only £7.95
Personally, I think these Nip + Fib make up products could easily pass for higher end brands. They are amazing quality for such budget prices. I’m an even bigger fan of Nip + Fab products now and can’t wait to raid Super Drug for the foundation, I need to try that now!
