Liz Earle Essentials Try-Me Kit | Review

I preach about how much I love Origins Skincare all the time on here. It’s been my go-to brand for skincare for well over a year since I first discovered their ranges, however, after emptying my latest batch of products I thought it was time to try something new!

I’ve been wanting to try Liz Earle products for a while, especially after I attended a beauty event at John Lewis last year where I met the Newcastle representatives. The ranges intrigued me and I’ve heard so many amazing reviews about their products so I asked my boyfriend for the Try-Me Kit for my birthday!

Liz Earle creates naturally inspired skincare that really works to transform the appearance of skin for all women, whatever their age or skin type. They’ve always believed in the potent power of naturally active ingredients and were among the first to make sourcing botanicals for their unique efficacy a priority.

The Try-Me Kit is such a good idea for new users potentially just discovering Liz Earle, like me for instance. It’s only £25 and includes 4 essential products from the skincare range plus a cotton cloth and mini travel bag. What more could you want?! I’m really cautious when buying new skincare stuff as I’m always worried they won’t work for my skin and I’m even more cautious when skincare is a splurge, it’s like what if I invest and the invest doesn’t return?! So, this mini Try-Me kit is ideal to try before buying.

What’s In The Try-Me Kit?

The Try-Me Kit is said to be your daily routine – the foundation of radiant, healthy-looking skin and sparkling eyes. Inside is the multi award-winning Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (30ml tube) with cotton cloth, the heavenly-scented, non-drying Instant Boost Skin Tonic (50ml bottle), your choice of perfectly tailored Skin Repair Moisturiser (15ml tube), plus our revitalising Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion (50ml bottle). Each product is also all in handy travel sizes.

How To Use

You’re instructed to use the cleanser daily morning and night, followed by the Instant Boost Skin Tonic and then the moisturiser. To apply the Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion use cotton wool pads to clean and wake up your eyes first thing for best results.

My Experience

I’ve been using the kit for around 3 weeks now and I’m really impressed with the results.

1. Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (30ml tube)

This British beauty essential is said to be the secret of fabulous skin and the perfect preparation for the next step in your beauty routine. It’s heavily enriched with cocoa butter to soften, smooth and moisturise, and rosemary, chamomile and eucalyptus to tone, soothe and purify. The pure cotton cloth is used to gently exfoliate, lift away dead skin cells to reveal smoother, clearer and brighter-looking skin.

I do believe starting before you apply your make up is the key to glowing skin, not highlighter… although it does help! This cleanser left my skin feeling so clean, nourished and soft. It smelt very aromatic on application, almost spa-like! The cotton cloth really did lift dead skin cells and stubborn leftover makeup. I have a nightmare trying to remove Estee Lauder double-wear and this really helped with that.

2. Instant Boost Skin Tonic (50ml bottle)

I loved the idea of this product while I was reading about it! This tonic is said to refresh, soothe and brighten the appearance of skin with this heavenly floral-scented, non-drying toner. It’s full of naturally active ingredients include aloe vera to hydrate, calendula, chamomile and cucumber to soothe and refresh, plus antioxidant vitamin E.

This product is really gentle on the skin and provided an instant boost of hydration and left my skin looking so radiant. This product also had a strong aromatic fragrance including rose, lavender and orange!

3. Skin Repair Moisturiser (15ml tube)

This expertly balanced moisturiser claims to soften, smoothe and condition skin for a naturally healthy-looking glow. The moisturiser has naturally active skin-nourishing ingredients, including borage oil (a rich source of the essential fatty acid GLA), echinacea, hops, avocado oil and the natural source vitamin E.

It’s really quite lightweight on the skin yet it’s so rich in all those ingredients It intensely hydrates skin without leaving an oily feel. It really improved the application of my make up! My foundation went on so much smoother creating a skin-perfecting look.

4. Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion (50ml bottle)

I get really puffy eyes! It drives me round the bend! I always have a specific eye cream to help with the bags and puffiness. This eye lotion is said to instantly revitalise and refresh tired, puffy eyes with this gentle, non-oily herbal infusion. Again, this product has also naturally active ingredients include the herb eyebright, witch hazel, aloe vera and cornflower.

This formula is really cooling and soothing around the puffiness, it’s not a thick consistency and you only need a few drops of it. It works really well and almost instantly, a few minutes after application and I could really see a difference when I was applying makeup. It’s become my morning saviour!

In conclusion, I’ll now be buying the full-size products after my trail! I love these products and the results I’ve had. I really don’t think the full-sized products are that badly priced either, they tend to range from £15-£20 which really isn’t a great deal fitting well in with my budget. It’s exceptional quality for the price! I’d recommend this set to anyone wanting to try Liz Earle, you won’t be disappointed!

I loved the hot cloth cleanser, but ended up switching to Superdug’s own brand because of the price, and it works even better for my skin.
I love the sound of the moisturiser.

I used their cloth cleanser a while back, but trying to add some good products into my skin care regime, my skin is just awful. So I may get some of these.
