Hello you! As if it’s July ALREADY? Time is flying! It feels like only yesterday I was sharing my June beauty faves, if you want to play catch up you can read June’s post here. Another month has gone by and I’ve tried a handful of more must-have beauty products that I just absolutely, needed to share you all! So here it is, sit back, grab a cuppa and enjoy!
1. Norvell Tan
I feel like I’ve made it my mission this year since my skin cancer scare to try every single false tanning product on the market. Norvell Tan is new to me. I’d never actually heard of the brand until I was lucky enough to be sent a few products from their latest range, thanks team Norvell! Norvell is the USA’s number 1 and award-winning tanning brand, these guys pride themselves on being a groundbreaking and innovative company in the sunless industry. Norvell tanning products are also associated with the Strictly Come Dancing tanning range which is licensed by BBC Worldwide, so you could say they’ve established quite a reputation for themselves.
I was sent the Ultra Vivid Boost Tan Extender 251ml (£29.99), the Renew Exfoliating Prep Mitt (£5.99) and the Revive Skin Refining Scrub 5floz (£19.00). I’m a big believer that preparation before application of false tan plays a huge part in the end result. I always exfoliate and scrub my skin of any leftover tan or dead skin cells before application so I was thrilled to be sent some ‘prep’ products too. The refining scrub and exfoliating prep mitt are a fantastic duo, the mitt is a convenient, fuss-free way to gently exfoliate the skin and balance pH levels prior to a sunless tan application. The exfoliator is really creamy and thick on the skin, yet is so effective at discarding dead skin cells, it smells amazing too – so fruity. I loved the fact it was paraben and sulfate free plus being 100% vegan.
I wasn’t too sure what to expect with the tan as it sounded more of a build up tan however once applied it wasn’t a developing tan formula as I was instantly sun-kissed. I loved the deep colour to the tan as it was dark yet looked very natural. Similarly to the exfoliator, the product is very thick yet very moisturising, that’s usually my pet hate with false tan, how drying it is but this is very rejuvenating. It’s described as a multi-tasking lotion works to gradually build colour while extending a sunless tan and concentrated with the skincare benefits of a CC Cream, boost moisturizes, brightens and firms the skin. I used it over a period of a few days and it does build up to be darker which is great but after one application I was happy with the outcome. As with the exfoliator, this product is formulated without parabens and sulfates plus is also vegan-friendly. Overall, I absolutely loved this ran!
2. KIKO Radiant Fusion Baked Powder
I was in need of a new powder this month. I’ve been using a Benefit powder for the past six months which I really like, however, I’m on a quest to find a powder with more of a flawless finish to it. I know this sounds terrible, but I like to cake the makeup on. I like thick looking makeup, I’m just not a natural looking gal! I use Estee Lauder Doublewear and MAC Studio Fix Foundations (depending on occasions) and needed something that would complement both foundations which I know, is easier said than done but I thought I’d give this KIKO powder a go, for £12.90 I thought it was worth a try!
The staff at my local KIKO are so helpful and advised me this powder would be the best for me to try. I told them I didn’t want a MATT finish, more of a glow and that’s what this fusion baked powder range is perfect for! This powder produced an overall luminous finish to my foundation. The micronized pigments and precious mineral extracts helped smooth and add radiance to my skin. The formula is enriched with vitamin E and argan oil that contains nourishing and protective properties which is why it finished so nicely on my skin! The colour glides on and blends really easily, it’s very silky! I’d definitely recommend!
3. MAC Persistence Matt Lipstick
Did you know MAC run a ‘BACK TO MAC’ scheme which is basically where they accept returns of its primary packaging to recycle? By returning six MAC primary packaging containers to a MAC counter or MAC Cosmetics online, you’ll receive a free M·A·C lipstick of your choice as our thanks to you! You all know by now how much I LOVE MAC lipsticks, so I thought I’d treat myself to another with my empties! I know it’s summer now and I should be embracing the bright pink tones but I’m still obsessing with nudes and brown tones! I knew as soon as I laid eyes on Persistence (£17.50) I had to have it. I wear a nude day-to-day at work as it’s effective yet not over the top. I’m not a big fan of mat lipsticks ordinarily but the MAC matt ranges are gorgeous and they stay on for so long. They’re so moisturising too!
4. Hempz Pink Pomelo & Himalayan Sea Salt Skincare Range
Skincare heroes Hempz have developed another fantastic new range and I was fortunate enough to be sent a few bits to try. I received the Foaming Body Wash, Body Salt Scrub and Body Moisturizer.
I tried the foaming body wash, to begin with, which is enriched with 100% pure natural hemp seed oil. First and foremost is smells amazing! It’s really lightweight on the skin meaning it’s gentle when it comes to cleansing. The Pink Pomelo is rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants to help invigorate and rejuvenate the skin’s appearance and the Sea Moisture Complex helps to retain moisture and maintain hydration of the skin. I then tried the scrub, which smells the same as the wash, very summery! This scrub cleanses and exfoliates to help soften and smooth skin, I used it before I applied false tan as it was non-greasy, lightweight formula which coats skin with a layer of moisture! Lastly, the moisturiser was my favourite. Just like the other products it contains the same formula and is so hydrating on the skin. I love the bottle it’s in too as it’s so quick and easy to apply. It’s not of a thick consistency either which I loved! All of these products are Paraben-Free, Gluten-Free, 100% Vegan, Dye-Free, THC-Free too.
4. LQ Skin, Hair & Nails
I’m all for looking after one’s self with vitamins and minerals so I couldn’t say no to try LQ Skin, Hair & Nails! LQ Liquid Health Supplements are scientifically formulated and manufactured by Nutraformis Limited. The brand has established a great reputation, even being the named an industry leader! You can the LQ ranges in Boots, Holland & Barrett, Victoria Health, 100% Health and on Amazon in the UK and in Europe.
I received a 10 day supply (£29.99) which contains 50ml daily bottles which have been scientifically formulated to support healthy skin, hair and nails. The formula is made up of Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Biotin & Resveratrol plus 5 other active ingredients. Liquid health supplements differ from tablets as they have faster absorption rates, higher optimisation rates and are more easily digestible. This is called bioavailability. LQs high bioavailability means it’s easier to absorb and there is a greater benefit from each dose, compared with other supplement brands. I drank the 50ml daily bottles as instructed across 10 days and had really positive results. The taste wasn’t great but I dealt with it! I have really thick growing hair anyway so I didn’t really feel the difference when it came to the hair aspect but the nails and skin elements were amazing. My skin was brighter, clearer and glowing even after 5 days. My nails are ruined due to years of acrylic abuse however they’ve grown a lot quicker and are so much stronger. I’m really impressed and would definitely recommend!
