Hair Update – Tangle Angel Review

Back in April, I decided to get hair extensions! I’ve had them before, a few years back and they changed my life after forever having short hair. Back then I got micro loops, also known as micro rings, for those of you who have no idea about extensions basically this is a technique. Strand by strand, a micro loop extension is applied to a similar sized piece of your own hair around 1cm away from the scalp. Tiny, silicone lined aluminium rings hold the extensions securely in place, without the need for any harsh glues or chemicals. The biggest pro for micro rings is the fact that they grow with your hair! They do not damage your hair, well they didn’t damage mine! In fact, my hair grew a hell of a lot within the 6 months I had them in!

So, I’m very pro hair extensions! I’ve been umming about extensions for about a year since I had a substantial chop after a hair disaster trying to die my hair blonde *still heartbreaking thinking about it*. Anyway, I decided to treat myself for my 21st birthday after a lot of research on the ‘LA Weave‘ Β and went for it!

I love my weave, I love my long luscious locks but there’s no denying, it is very hard to maintain. You have to be prepared to give yourself a blow dry every wash, wave goodbye to the days of going to bed with wet hair and say hello to leaving your hair as long as you can before washing (I seriously love you Dry Shampoo!) BUT, it’s worth the hassle. My hair makes every outfit and occasion!

Maintaining your weave means investing in the right tools, for example, new curlers for thicker hair, better hair dryer and proper brushes. By proper brushes I mean less harsh, softer brushes like a Tangle Angel! I was over the moon when the brand got in touch with me recently and asked if I’d like to review, the timing could not have been better. Tangle Angels are specifically designed for de-tangling which extensions are prone too.Β I received the Tangle Angel GR8 Graphite, which is perfect for detangling both wet and dry hair, and also makes a great blow drying brush. I was impressed to find out that the brush itself is antibacterial, it’s specially developed antibacterial additives embedded in the plastic make your brush ultra hygienic and safe to use. It’s also Antistatic, heat and water resistant.

I loved the Tangle Angel, I think it’s a brilliant compact brush which is effective especially for my thick weave! The design of the brush is girly, with a magical fantasy theme throughout, which sounds a little immature but the colouring of mine the graphite was adult-y.Β (If that’s even a word?!) The bristles were super soft and gentle on my hair meaning I wasn’t rive-ing at my hair and tats, a good thing so that my hair wasn’t damaged after use or pulling on my extensions. The handle on the brush is great for grip and direction for use.

Overall, I’ll be sticking with my Tangle Angel and it’s a yes from me!
