Bringing The Spa Home With PMD Personal Microderm

So a few weeks ago, I well and truly pimped up my skincare routine! I received the PMD Personal Microderm, which basically enables you to bring the spa to your home!

I’ve heard so much about PMD Personal Microderm, it’s been voted ‘Best Beauty Buy’ by Instyle magazine (US edition) for two years running and it also outperformed a traditional exfoliation spa facial treatment when tested in a recent episode of The Gadget Show. I was really looking forward to seeing what sort of results could be achieved, in the comfort of my own home! I’ve been desperate to get an actual microdermabrasion but unfortunately, I can’t afford one at the minute. It’s a bit of an investment, to say the least!

What Is Microdermabrasion?

For anyone who doesn’t know what a microdermabrasion is, it’s basically a treatment that uses a stream of non-allergenic crystals to remove your skin’s outermost layers of dead cells. A handset is used to direct the stream of crystal over the treatment area and, where necessary, target specific zones. The handset then uses a mild suction to draw away the crystal and skin debris to reveal your new and improved complexion. A microdermabrasion is chemical free and non-invasive yet achieves amazing results revealing younger, healthier looking skin from the very first treatment. The skin’s appearance is further improved through increased collagen & elastin production as your body produces a new layer of skin.

What Is PMD Microderm?

The PMD Personal Microderm is a hand-held device that delivers the same anti-ageing and skin purifying results as an actual microdermabrasion treatment but at a fraction of the price making it a more affordable option for people like me! It combines the power of deep exfoliation with vacuum suction to leave the skin looking brighter, smoother and more rejuvenated than ever.

The device uses the same aluminium oxide crystals as found in professional treatments which make up a flat, coarse disc that has a deeply exfoliating effect on the skin. The dead skin cells are instantly removed by the vacuum action of the device, which activates the innate skin healing mechanism that stimulates cell renewal and collagen production in the upper layers of the skin.

According to the experts using PMD device regularly will reduce the appearance of fine lines, light scarring and wrinkles. It will also improve the overall skin tone by fading uneven pigmentation, sun damage, age spots, and skin blemishes. In addition, microdermabrasion also helps to reduce the formation of acne as it helps to clear out clogged pores and release trapped dirt and oil. Another benefit is the fact that skin care product will be more fully absorbed into the skin, which maximises their effectiveness.

To achieve the best possible results, it is advised to follow the PMD guidelines and start with the training discs to test initial tolerance and to learn how to move the device over the skin. All information and tips on how to use the device are included on the DVD that comes with the PMD Personal Microderm system. You can find all information on the PMD website, including a YouTube video that explains step-by-step how to handle the device to achieve your glow.

First Impressions

I really like the branding of the product. The packaging is compact, informative and easy to follow. The product itself has been ergonomically designed meaning you can hold it naturally and the purple plastic around the handle makes it easy to grip onto. There’s a great range of discs which I think’s really important as I was worried about the tips being too harsh on my skin initially. The instructions included were again really easy to follow and I think having the disc was really helpful too.

My Experience

Before I actually used the device I tested it on my hand. The disc spins inside the clear cap, meanwhile, the vacuum clears away the dead skin. It’s a really weird tingly feeling, I didn’t find it painful or uncomfortable. I used it from the centre of my face starting on my nose and forehead and then worked outwards.

After use there was a little redness, however, it disappeared after a few minutes to reveal a glowy appearance. My skin looked so much brighter and fuller, it felt so soft. I moisturised after use and my skin looked hydrated!

My Results

After using the PMD Personal Microderm for 3 weeks now, I can honestly say it’s amazing! I’d 100% recommend this device to anyone looking to rejuvenate their skin. I’ve seen spectacular results, especially around my scar on the side of my face after my mole removal. I’ve been really down and self-conscious about the scar which has been healing since January, it’s minimised and reduced redness from the scaring. My make-up application has massively improved, my foundation no longer sinks into my skin! You can pick yourself a PMD Personal Microderm for a modest £135 on Look Fantastic and it’s worth every penny!
