Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is a global prestige beauty brand that empowers women to embrace and enhance their individual beauty. It’s a sought-after brand by all cosmetic goddesses within the beauty industry and quite rightly so after earning such a reliable reputation. The brand has such a colourful and exciting history. The founder, Bobbi herself is a self-made entrepreneur, who’s literally started from the bottom and now she’s here. Founded in 1991 the brand offers universally flattering products created with uncompromising quality and an intuitive sense of what every woman wants: to look and feel like herself, only more confident.
I’m ashamed to admit to you all that before this post, I’d never actually tried any Bobbi Brown products. I’m not very daring when it comes to trying a more high-end beauty brand and usually just stick to what I know, for example, Estee Lauder and here’s a fun fact, Bobbi Brown is actually their sister company!
The brand is best known for their amazing Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation, Luxe Lip Color and Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF40 PA+++ of which are all best sellers.
This time last year, I met with one of their representatives at a John Lewis Beauty Event who explained and demonstrated a few of their products. I’ve kept in touch with the brand and they’ve kindly sent me over a few of their must-have products. I thought I’d put together a Bobbi Brown themed haul to show you what you need in your make up bag in 2019!
1. Life Of The Party Mini Lip & Eye Palette (£32.50)
This is a limited edition palette which has been specifically created to keep your Christmas party look on hand with a compact mirror and purse-size feature. Included in the palette are four neutral eyeshadow shades in velvety matte and high-shine metallic finishes, as well as a universally flattering mini Lip Color.
Mini Lip Color in Brown – 2.2 g
Eye Shadow in Shell
Metallic Eye Shadow in Twilight
Metallic Eye Shadow in Oyster Pink
Eye Shadow in Cool Brown
The packaging is very luxurious, so very glam. I absolutely loved this mini lip and eye palette! Not only is compact for your handbag, it keeps everything together and has such a gorgeous range of eye shades inside. I liked the fact there was a choice of matte and metallic shades as I like to begin my eye make up with a matte colour on my eye curve. The colour of the shades are bang on the season, and definitely complimented my little black dress! The proof is always in the pudding with makeup and whether its long lasting and I’m pleased to confirm the eyeshadows were strongly pigmented which meant only a slight bit of product was needed to create a smokey eye look and the look I created lasted 10+ hours! I was really impressed. Last but not least, the mini lipstick. This year I’ve been on a nude lip discovery, embracing the unconventional colours and being adventurous and brown shades are my new favourites. I was thrilled to find the brown lipstick amongst the palette, it was moisturising, glossy and gave my lips volume (for a change!).
2. Luxe Lip Color – Atomic Orange (£28.00)
Their boldest, most vibrant colour ever. This sumptuous formula is claimed to dramatically boost moisture levels while intensely rejuvenating lips, keeping them comfortable and conditioned—even after it’s removed. Now in over 40 shades, with a sleek gold tube. It’s luxury, redefined.
I did mention I’d been uncovering unconventional colours and to me, my conventional is bright red lipstick. Who doesn’t love a bright lippie though?! If I were a lipstick, I’d definitely be this one. I adore this atomic orange. I really liked the fact that it had rejuvenating properties within the product as lipstick can really dry out my lips making it eventually crack, which isn’t a good look is it?! This lipstick kept my lips looking hydrated and glossy for longer. I can’t wait to get my hands on more shades!
3. Smokey Eye Mascara (£25.00)
Bobbi Brown claim this is the perfect product to complement a smoky eye look. This kohl-pigmented mascara delivers high drama by creating extremely black, stretched-out lashes in an instant. Plus, the long-wearing formula holds its own against flaking, smudging, sweat and humidity.
I’ve been desperate for a new mascara forever! I find it quite difficult to find a decent mascara, to be honest as all these fancy brushes end up smudging the product all over my eyes and ruining my eyeshadow masterpieces! And don’t get me started on how hard it is to remove some of these new products on the market, I get that they need to be long lasting but I do want to be able to remove it after a day at work! I used the smokey eye mascara alongside the mini palette to see if it did compliment my look and it did. This brush is perfect for me, back to basics and it adds so much volume to my lashes along with the product. It doesn’t smudge either as it’s slightly smaller than regular brushes. The product itself is quite thick but with the brush, it’s evenly spread during application, not a lot of product is needed which is always good! I couldn’t recommend this mascara enough!
4. Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick – Violet Plum (£23.50)
A long-lasting, do-it-all eyeshadow that’s a stroke of genius—just swipe and go. This budge-proof formula stays put for 8 hours.
This should be in every working women’s makeup bag! Always in a rush on a morning? Just bang some of this long wear cream shadow stick on, blend it out and bang, you’re out the door. Be effortlessly glam, in 5 minutes! It really is a genius creation! It’s not just for those days where you can’t get out of bed though, it adds an extra oomph to a smokey eye too. I loved the Violet Plum shade I received as it was pigmented yet once blended created a gradual shadow look! I’m off to buy this in every shade. I’m not surprised it won Best Eye Shadow at Women’s Health Beauty Awards in 2015!
So, my first real experience with Bobbi Brown products was a total success and I’ve definitely been missing out. My favourite in this haul has to be the long lasting shadow stick and I think for just £23.50, it’s a bargain. I don’t particularly think Bobbi Brown is even that expensive, compared to some other brands these products are actually quite affordable! I’d rate all of the products 10/10 and would encourage everyone to give this brand a go!
