Benefit Brow Evening
Benefit, a beauty bloggers favourite! Who doesn’t love Benefit Cosmetics?! Last Tuesday evening I was invited down to Benefit Newcastle at their Debenhams counter for a Brow Master Class by the lovely Laura at Ellefluence. Myself and some other North East bloggers were greeted by the Benefit team with a glass of fizzy and pizza from Newcastle’s famous Manny’s Pizza Deli…yummy! The benefit team then done their introductions, we learnt all of their names, their specialties and how they worked together to be a team of make up goddness’. All five of the girls were well presented and of course their make up was ‘on fleek’ as they say, so I knew I was in trusty hands to do a good job.
We then split off into teams of four and went off with our specialists to have a lesson in brows. I was pleased we were in smaller groups because it meant a more personal one, on one kind of lesson rather than just being shouted out and told what to do to get good eyebrows. Beth our specialist was really conversational, as in it didn’t feel like it was a lesson, rather a conversation between a good friend. She took us through the basics and demonstrated on the lovely Mandy, who was really getting the full works of the Benefit Beauty treatments as this is a new service Benefit are now offering to customers (Brows, chin and lip waxing). We asked lots of questions about the techniques she was using since brows really do have a lot of controversy in the media about what looks good and what doesn’t! She pointed out to us that our shape really does depend on what shape we already have, it’s more about the definition and the highlighting that makes the shape. She started off by drawing on the ends of Mandy’s eyebrows, ensuring they were level and equal with each side then figured out the shape, then removing the stray hairs, then completing the routine with dye. Mandy’s eyebrows really were transformed, they instantly opened up her face and eyes.
Our team then moved on to the new make up products Benefit have created for brows which I’ve heard great reviews from, demonstrated by the fabulous Rochelle, whom is one of the Norths best Benefits make up artist. She talked us through the range, detailing the differences because to me were they not all doing the same thing? Drawing on our eyebrows? Apparently not, you have a primer and a highlighter plus each product has it’s own unique job and collectively they work together to create the most desired look. It is also down to preference which product you use because there are pencils (which I love for quickness), solutions with brushes for more detail, pens which have a special designed head. It was really interesting, I feel like I learned so much about brows it’s like I’ve been living under a rock!!
Rochelle then showcased all of Benefits gorgeous sets they’d put together this season which were ideal for Christmas presents of which I couldn’t resist getting my hands on. I’ve also never used the famous Benefit Hula Bronzer which apparently everyone in the whole world has and I haven’t so Rochelle kindly gave me a demonstration, explaining how it can used, how to actually use it and why it is a must have item for beauty obsessives like me! Again, very insightful.
I had a great time at the Benefit Brows Event, big thank you to the Benefit Newcastle Team and for the goody bag plus Ellefluence for the invite.
