April Beauty Favourites

Life has been manic as always, I’m finding it pretty hard to juggle work, social life and blogging if I’m honest. It’s just that time of year, events, birthdays and holidays.

So anyway, on this off chance that I’ve gotten to sit down, I thought I’d put together a beauty haul, since it has been a while after all. There honestly aren’t enough hours in a day but there’s always time to glam up and pamper yourself isn’t there? I’ve received some fab goodies over the past few weeks of which I’ve been using and NEED to share with you all!

Leighton Denny Nail Varnishes

Let’s start with nails! I’m currently giving my nails their yearly rest from the acrylics so am back on the nail varnish and gels. Last week I was kindly sent some fabulous nail varnishes from Leighton Denny by the gals at AlexSilverPR. Although pastel colours are back in for spring summer, I am loving metallic colours at the minute. I think it might be the unicorn, glittery, sheen look I’m hearting the most right now.

Leighton Denny are a new brand to me and boy have I been missing out. They’ve been around for over 20 years now and have won a number of awards over the years including British Nail Technician of the Year for three years running plus, being voted into the Hall Of Fame in 2004. Leighton himself, has worked with several high-profile celebs over the years before creating his own nail ranges. You could say he knows his stuff, considered as beauty royalty since he received an MBE for smashing the industry.

Now for the verdict, the nail varnishes themselves were very long lasting. I loved the texture, the solution itself wasn’t runny or too thick it applied perfectly and neatly. The colours were both vibrant and glittery, creating the look was very much after.

Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Lipsticks

Now on to luscious lips! I’m away next week in Venice so I’ve been after some new lippy to carry around in my handbag. Something bright, spring like you know, since I feel like I have been supporting the dark shades all winter. I was thrilled when I received some Joan Collins Timeless Beauty lipsticks. I cannot recommend her range enough, I reviewed the compact duo from the festive range back in December here if you haven’t already read, and loved it. The Evelyn red I got really was my best friend throughout the Christmas party scene. This time I received Suzy Starr and Bella, the colours really are gorgeous. The Bella lipstick works so well with my complexion and dark hair, really brightening up my face and completing my fleeky make-up. The lipstics are creamy, glossy and very long lasting meaning I’ll be sipping a few peach billini’s while I’m away and not worrying about it coming off.

NuSkin AP24 Teeth Whitening

Since I’m probably going to be taking a lot of selfies while I’m in Venice, I’ve also been using AP-24 Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste to give my teeth some much needed TLC. Luckily, I had a brace when I was younger so I really do love my teeth and take pride in them. I’m always on the hunt for new formulas to keep them looking sparkling since I can’t afford to get them whitened professionally. A Facebook friend of mine is an ambassador for NuSkin and had been raving about the results, revealing before and after images and I was so impressed. I decided to give it a try and I haven’t been disappointed.

Not only does it visibly whiten and brighten teeth, but also fights plaque formation, helps remove stains and aids in the prevention of cavities. There are no harmful peroxides in the formula either, something which I’m apprehensive about when using teeth whiteners. I’m loving my AP-24 whitener and swear by it. Make sure you speak to Kirsty, should you be interested in trying. She was also kind enough to include a sample of the Glacial Marine Mud which is basically a mud mask for those tiny black heads. The revitalising clay mask which contains sea botanicals draws out dirt and impurities from the skin. It’s left my skin feeling glowing!
