5 Palmer’s Skincare Products You Need

I’m a huge advocate of Palmer’s! I have been since my early teens after struggling with a few stretch marks here and there. I literally remember when Palmers went viral after appearing on ‘How To Look Good Naked’ or some programme like that back in the day!

I have really dry and sensitive skin. I can’t use bath bombs, I can’t use soaps, I can’t use certain shampoos… the list goes on! I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact I can’t use LUSH bath bombs. I longingly walk past my local store and glare at all the happy shoppers inside. If you have what they class as ‘Normal’ skin, you don’t know how lucky you are.

I mainly use Palmer’s body moisturisers on a daily basis, the body lotion is my go-to moisturiser. I had no idea the brand had expanded their range until I was fortunate enough to receive some products from their new lines! I was sent a few products from their Cocoa Butter Formula, the Multi-Effect Perfecting Facial Oil, Micro Fine Exfoliating Facial Scrub, Skin Perfecting Moisturizing Day Cream, Body Lotion and the Anti-Aging Smoothing Lotion.

Palmer’s core ingredient is Cocoa Butter. They call it nature’s super ingredient because of its superior healing properties and its ability to help skin retain moisture. The butter is a rich vegetable fat extracted from the cocoa bean which grows in the cocoa pods of the cacao tree. At maturity, these pods are harvested from the trunks and branches and are separated by colours that correspond to the quality of the bean; those with poorer aromas and flavours may be used for industrial chocolate, while the higher quality beans are used in Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula. The raw Cocoa Butter is ethically and sustainably sourced and Palmer’s are a proud member of the World Cocoa Foundation which supports sustainable farming.

I’ve upgraded my skincare routine this past year after vowing to take better care of my skin. I was looking forward to trying the facial products since I’ve had such a success with the other Palmers products in the past!

1. Micro Fine Exfoliating Facial Scrub (£5.49)

I thought I’d start with the product I’ve been using the most, the facial scrub. I’m not a huge fan of scrubs usually as in the past with other products it felt like the scrubs were doing more harm than good. Exfoliators usually feel rough on my skin, however, this scrub didn’t! This scrub has been dermatologist tested and is safe for sensitive skin so I knew it would be alright for me! The micro fine exfoliants are a mixture of crushed walnut shells and cocoa powder. It gently smoothed my skin, leaving it softer and brighter even after a heavy night it revived my dull skin. I applied the product on to wet skin in small circular motions after I’d been in the shower or bath and then rinse with water off.

Rating 10/10

2. Skin Perfecting Moisturizing Day Cream (£7.99)

I loved this moisturiser! This is the perfect day moisturiser with the added benefit of SPF15! It’s a really lightweight formula which is really nourishing yet doesn’t clog up pores. The moisturiser supports collagen production, calms irritation, is loaded with anti-oxidants and has light, fast absorbing moisture. As with the Exfoliator, this product is also dermatologist tested and safe for Sensitive Skin. I used the skin perfecting cream daily, after using the scrub and before make applying make up. It really did brighten and revitalise my skin up! All of the products smell amazing, obviously because they have cocoa in them, but this really did smell delicious.

Rating 10/10

3. Multi-Effect Perfecting Facial Oil (£9.74)

I was really sceptical about using an oil, I always think oils make skin look really greasy. I was pleasantly surprised with this product actually since it didn’t leave me looking shiny at all, in fact, it left me with skin softer than a babies bum! This facial oil contains 9 Pure Oils plus Cocoa Butter, Resveratrol and Retinol, to help improve the signs of ageing. This formula claims to deeply nourishes and with daily use helps skin appear more radiant, youthful, healthy and I couldn’t agree more! It really has left my skin looking glowing! After cleansing, I apply 3 drops to my face and neck and massage into skin in a circular motion. I now use this every day!

Rating 10/10

4. Anti-Aging Smoothing Lotion (£4.25)

I am only 22, so I’m not too concerned about anti-ageing products but it is on my agenda to look into. There’s no time like the present to ensure my skin stays youthful! This soothing location is a unique blend of pure Cocoa Butter, Alpha & Beta Hydroxy Acids, Vitamin E and Shea Butter that exfoliates dry dead skin cells and uncovers healthier looking skin whilst providing deep moisturisation. It’s really fast absorbing on the skin despite being very rich. I found this lotion really evened out my skin tone even with false tan on! It left my skin feeling soft and smooth. I used this after using the shower or bath.

Rating 9/10

5. Body Lotion (£2.66)

The UK’s #1 Cocoa Butter Body Lotion and my #1! This body lotion is a rich, creamy lotion made from pure Cocoa Butter enriched with Vitamin E, this classic product is an advanced moisturiser that softens, smooths and relieves skin. It’s actually also been clinically proven to improve dry skin after just one application! I use this every day and it leaves my skin feeling nurtured and soft after every application. I honestly can’t recommend this product enough!

Rating 10/10

I’ve been blown away with these products from the Cocoa Butter Formula range. Not only are they of a fantastic quality, they are value for money. Each product is so affordable, a total bargain if you ask me. My skin has visibly improved, appearing brighter, glow-y and softer. YOU need to try Palmer’s!

I used to love Palmers so so so much and used it all the time in my teens and early twenties. Then as soon as I got pregnant the smell knocked me so sick that I can’t go back to it. So I envy you for being able to use it!
