4 Beauty Products I’m Diggin’ Right Now

Good morning Tuesday, how was everyone’s bank holiday weekend? Mine was, well, drunk. Is there a better way to spend a bank holiday though? I think not. It was my belated birthday celebrations actually, me and the gals painted the town red.

Today, I’m talking beauty. I’ve not done a beauty haul in like, forever! Over the past month, amongst my busy schedule, I’ve discovered some absolute must-have beauty revolutionary products and I thought I’d share them with you, because y’know I’m nice like that.

I have a random mix of products to share, but they’re all necessities from an effortless backcombing saviour to a time-saver mani. I’ve gotcha’ backs girls!

1. Hairshark Pro Backcomber (£24.99)

Here it is, I introduce you to a revolution in backcombing techniques! All hail Hairshark. I first found out at Hairshark on Channel 4’s brand new TV series Buy It Now a few weeks ago and knew I needed to try it for myself. This is an innovative haircare tool and the world’s first 2 in 1 backcombing design, with both negative and positively charged fins that work together to achieve maximum, long-lasting volume. This brush claims to ensure 24-hour volume, so I put it to the test! The brush is really easy to use and didn’t make my hair go all static when I was backcombing, it really creates texture to the hair. I was really impressed with the end result, not only did I have big hair, it lasted all night and didn’t fall flat. I’d really recommend this product for people with thin or flat hair!

2. MAC Eyelashes (£11.50)

I know, I know, a bit of splurge BUT these eyelashes are SO worth it. Not only are they so easy to apply, they last for ages. When I say they’re easy to apply I mean they shape to your eyelids really easily. They’re such good quality, I literally can’t fault them. I usually go for the no. 34’s, they look so natural yet have a dramatic effect once applied. I get up to 10 wears out of these babies, but I do look after them, even when I’m drunk!

3. MAC Retro Matte All Fired Up Lipstick (£17.50)

This lippie and the eyelashes were a birthday present from my girlfriends, they know me too well! Just look at this colour, how stunning? I’m a sucker for a red lipstick and do have a very large collection of different shades of reds but this one is beautiful. I always find MAC lipsticks are so heavily pigmented so the colour you see is the colour actually applied to the lips. I also think they’re really long lasting, perfect for a night out!

4. KISS Gel Fantasy Nails (£5.32)

I received an amazing package from the team at KISS last week! KISS have recently realised a fabulous new range of glue-on nails read for summer. I’ve always been a lover of KISS glue-on nails as they really help a gal in need when I’m due a new set of acrylics! The new range is stunning, my favourites are Fanciful set! I adore the glitter ombre effect. In each set, you receive 24 nails, 24 mega-adhesive tabs, pink gel glue plus a manicure stick and mini file. They’re an absolute bargain and really long lasting.

Have you got any beauty favourites?

That backcombing brush… I need it in my life. I remember being in school about 13/14 me and my friends used to backcomb our hair SO much. It was huge. They used to call us the care bears, because our hair was big? Didn’t make much sense but…! We would fill the girls bathroom with the smell of Got 2 Be hairspray as well!
    Much love, Caitylis x x
